After years of trying to get back home to be closer to my daughter, I finally secured a spot on the newly expanded San Francisco Shockwaves.

Juggling being the newly appointed Captain of the team and taking on full-time fatherhood to a teenager sends my life into chaos.

I quickly find myself needing someone who can pick up the pieces and keep my life in order as I certainly can't do it alone.

I just never thought my savior would be the sexy woman next door—the one I can't keep my mind or eyes off every chance I get.

Contains mature themes.

It feels so good to read a great book. I have been not so patiently waiting on Ryker for forever. The start of a new series of guys to fall in love with, and SOAPS (Jr). I love the devotion Ryker has for his Elle Bean. A great dad is sometimes hard to come by. Elle was a welcome addition in her maturity and acceptance of her dad's relationship. Now, Ryker and Avery. Wow, talk about steamy. Their relationship started slow and flash banged from there. I loved every word of this book. Bring on the SHOCKWAVES.

The characters seem like good people but they are two dimensional. The atmosphere is cosy and there is no drama. It lacks feeling. There is no anticipation, no heat. You know there is a problem when the author needs to detail the dog walks down to every stop and poop cleanup, but the story randomly jumps days, weeks or months, even when there are events about to happen. Unimportant moments are written in excruciating detail. There is a very detailed description of ring shopping. Do we need to know that the salesperson said the ring is ensured?!

Waste of time.

Narration is good, but there’s nothing special, no variation in voice for different people.
