"Russian Roulette is...the most thorough and riveting account." -- The New York Times
Russian Roulette is a story of political skullduggery unprecedented in American history. It weaves together tales of international intrigue, cyber espionage, and superpower rivalry. After U.S.-Russia relations soured, as Vladimir Putin moved to reassert Russian strength on the global stage, Moscow trained its best hackers and trolls on U.S. political targets and exploited WikiLeaks to disseminate information that could affect the 2016 election.
The Russians were wildly successful and the great break-in of 2016 was no "third-rate burglary." It was far more sophisticated and sinister -- a brazen act of political espionage designed to interfere with American democracy. At the end of the day, Trump, the candidate who pursued business deals in Russia, won. And millions of Americans were left wondering, what the hell happened? This story of high-tech spying and multiple political feuds is told against the backdrop of Trump's strange relationship with Putin and the curious ties between members of his inner circle -- including Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn -- and Russia.
Russian Roulette chronicles and explores this bizarre scandal, explains the stakes, and answers one of the biggest questions in American politics: How and why did a foreign government infiltrate the country's political process and gain influence in Washington?

It is still disturbing to have all the incredible details carefully laid out. It makes you realize how numb you may have become to just how dangerous the Trump presidency is.
It is told well and the research is comprehensive. We should all be concerned about the number of former Russian diplomats and intelligence workers who have died of unexpected heart attacks and gun shot wounds. What is clear from this book is that the malevolent force of Putin has at the least a great friend in Trump, and probably a sworn ally.
Other facts remain such as the great lengths Kushner went to in order to get a secret line of communication from Trump to Putin (that the US NSA could not intercept) days and weeks before he forgot all about having contact with any foreigners. The possibility that Kushner was not lying, on oath, ends up at zero.
Disturbing Recap of Trump’s Russia Ties

The narration is really good. It might have been better if, when reading the Drumpf quotes, the voice had gone to a loose-dentured, manic, demented, syphilitic whine...but it will do. It's also refreshing to hear someone that knows how to pronounce the word "Moz-coe." Since intellectual Rachel Maddow can't seem to figure it out.
The information is detailed and rich and puts all the players on the stage. It makes clear why Manafort brought no defense to the trial. If he spills the beans, he gets the poison 'tea.' Roger Stone and Steve Bannon are total tools and Russian puppets. Kushner, DJTJ, Conway...they were all playing Russia's game.
The Obama administration totally dropped the ball and blew the entire opportunity. The only person who had this situation dialed in was HRC, she was the only one knew from the get go that Putin was orchestrating an attack on American elections. No wonder why Putin attacked her, she was the only one with balls enough to stand up to his BS.
Bring on the peepee tape and end this national disgrace.
