Ross Poldark returns to Cornwall from war, looking forward to a joyful homecoming with his family and his beloved Elizabeth. But instead he discovers that his father has died, his home is overrun by livestock and drunken servants, and Elizabeth, having believed Ross dead, is now engaged to his cousin. Ross must start over, building a completely new path for his life, one that takes him in exciting and unexpected directions…
Thus begins an intricately plotted story spanning loves, lives, and generations. The Poldark series is the masterwork of Winston Graham, who evoked the period and people like only he could, and created a world of rich and poor, loss and love, that listeners will not soon forget.

What made the experience of listening to Ross Poldark the most enjoyable?
Great story. Very good listen. But for the money don't buy it. You only get part of the story and you have to buy another book to hear the rest. It makes the book too pricey. It's not THAT good. What other book might you compare Ross Poldark to and why?
Outlander time period. Poor depth compared to a Gabaldon book.Have you listened to any of Oliver Hembrough’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
NoWas this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

BUT I suggest speeding up the audio as the reader reads VERY slow.
I listen on 1.5 and sometimes even then seems too slow. But its an easy fix with the speed settings.
Wonderful narration BUT
