David Colacci is admirable in his narration of this epic fantasy, which is Tolkienesque in its dwarves and elves and magic and quests.... Road of the Patriarch is a bit more adult than the usual fare from this author. This is a gritty and bloody book, with a bit of sex as well." ( AudioFile)

New author + new pronunciations = bad time.

The new author pronounces every single name differently and it's extremely annoying. It kept pulling me from the story.

Why change voice?

Good Athrogate voicing, but all others were inferior to Victor B. Not sure why they changed voice actors for 3rd book...

Great story as expected from the Legend of Drizzt

The story is great as usual but... I cant lie, I dearly miss Victor Bevine's narration of the story and character voices. This was hard to listen to after listening to what... 10 books with Victor Bevine as the narrator.

good story par with the series but..

Love this series, but I am not a fan of changing narrators. it just isn't the same when the characters voice change when you get to know them through a voice of one. the names and pronunciations change which makes one feel as though they are getting to know each character all over. I had gotten to the point with Victor's reading that I knew the characters without him stating the speaker. with David I have to relisten several times trying to follow conversations between characters.

Loved it, hoping for more stories about all the characters, with happy endings of course. Jarlaxl is most interesting. and who doesn't like dragons? Patrick Rothfuss is so wrong about that topic.

I loved Victor Bevine's narration of the books before this one, the new narrator wasn't as good.

It was good.

I don't get why fans are so upset with the new narrator? At first I disliked him, but as the story progressed, I grew to enjoy his take on the characters we have come to love.

Why change narrator

Why change the narrator? Victor Bevine has done all the Drizzt books up until this one. We have all gotten used to his voices for characters and then for whatever reason they change to this guy who sounds like he’s trying to one up Bevine. He overdoes it and sounds pretentious.

What happened to Victor Bevine?

Victor Bevine seems like he actually read the story and thought out the characters, their motives and behaviors. This guy sounds the same on every book he reads. And since I heard him on the CEO Porn books managers are always making their subordinates read... I detest his every syllable as he despoils my beloved Artemis and Jarlaxle.
