Love this series!!

History made fun. Each one has excellent content. You learn something and laugh. My 11 YO loves listening and I love that he is learning about history.

I wanted to like it, but...

The stories are weak. Each chapter has a short musical number (or two!) in them. Not hating on musicals! But it didn't flow right.

Kellogg v. Kellogg was very rambly - heck, they all were. I failed to see how The Battle of the Sexes' tennis players were true rivals. They made General MacArthur into a clone of Spicoli. And don't get me started on the confusion with Fredegund and Brunhilda. I felt I needed a playbook with all the similar names.

Throw in some homage to Monty Python & the Holy Grail, a name drop for another piece by the author, "Mutually Assured Detention" (which I loved) and this whole volume 3 feels like a letdown.

I was really looking forward to the next edition in this series, but was a bit let down. Not as good as the previous books.

Good although I'm a little disappointed. it's not as good the other two but it's still a fun read.

Love This Series!

Another great addition from Scott McCormick to the Rivals series! Each story was funny, informative and engaging (as expected). The last chapter about the queens was really well done. I already knew this history, and the way McCormick simplified it without losing key pieces of history and made all the characters with similar names stand out individually was fantastic. (Kudos also to the voice actors!)

Irony

Kellogg’s cereal story is rather ironic. According to this audio, before cereal, breakfast was high in sodium and sugar. Cereal is supposed to be better except today’s cereals are filled with sodium and sugar.

Fun stories

I enjoy this series which brings some lesser known rivalries to life in a fun and engaging way. Hope there will be more books in the series!

Agenda much?

I’m glad I didn’t pay for this because wow, was that pushing an agenda. I didn’t even finish listening to it. Loved the other books but not this one.

not great

I used to like the series and look forward to the next one. This one missed the mark and came off more preachy then entertaining.

liked the performance made me laugh

liked it up until the one-sided feminist view of history took center stage. Im all for women but when the view of history is it's all men's fault and take no other factors into consideration, you've lost my interest.
