Needs more history

This second book of the series veered more toward fantasy and mythology. Although an exciting story that kept my interest, it lost the appeal of the Roman history that drew me in. With the cliffhanger ending, the author ensures readers will rush to read the conclusion of the series.

A Great second book

A great second book in the trilogy.

Nielsen is a master at really bringing the reader into the narrative, and this book is no exception. I look forward to seeing the end of Nic's adventure, and, on a personal note, Nielsen has really dragged me back into my Ancient Rome era.

I like the different use of magic and how mystical animals were also included in the story.

Just like the first book I could not put this one down. I have enjoyed everything about the story, characters and especially the pace.

I teach Roman history in 3rd grade and it was fun to find this book set in the time of the Roman Empire. Creative story, believable characters, all entwined with Roman history.
