Resumen del Editor

When Savannah Carter takes a job as a personal assistant in upstate New York, she never expected to be working for a man like Wade Hart. With his sparkling green eyes and devious smile, he is a man she both hates and adores. When their professional relationship becomes more intimate, Savannah is ecstatic...until she hears a phone call that changes everything.

“I never should have hired her, she can ruin everything.” Those words whispered by Wade on the phone shock her, but before she can confront him about what she's heard, he disappears, leaving only a cryptic note behind. Suddenly Savannah’s “too good to be true” job seems to be exactly that.

What are the secrets that Wade is hiding from her? How is she a threat to him? And just who is her mysterious new friend, Gordon, and why is he so insistent on being in her life? While Savannah’s heart is falling for Wade, her brain is telling her to run. Can the man who ignites her hidden passions be her happily ever after? Or should she heed the warnings and run back to New York City before she gets burned?

Throughly enjoyable

This is the second part to Wade and Savannah story.
It starts where To Whom It May Concern finishes so
definitely read that book first or this one will be very
hard to follow.
This one answers all the questions that was left over from
the first book.
Still there’s plenty of drama suspense twists and turns and steam
as Wade and Savannah comes to there happy ever after.
I have also listened to the audiobook.
Which the narrators did a great job of bringing it alive.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Mysteries everywhere!

Savannah just overheard her boss, Wade Hart, talking on the phone, saying that if she learns the truth, his life will be ruined. She's angry and hurt that he's keeping secrets from her, especially after their night of passion. She wants some questions answered, but Wade is being extremely vague and deflects everything she asks. He leaves a note that he'll be gone for a week or so without so much as an explanation. There are too many strange occurrences happening around the house at night and Savannah's starting to be frightened. Windows left open. Dirt on the floor and mud in the house. Is someone breaking in and she doesn't hear it? Lucy comes to stay with her and keep her company and, while Wade is gone, they decide to do a little sleuthing to find his secrets. Nothing they locate makes any sense, but what they do find triggers more questions than before. When she confronts Wade, there's a form of stalemate. She may ask him something, but his answers go around in circles and he's not going to give her anything at all. There are still so many unknowns and you get to the point where you really have to know! The story of Gordon is so sad, and the family entanglements are dizzying. The ending is semi-sweet, dealing with the fallout from the accident, but it's a perfect way to tie all the ends together. Perhaps there's a story for Lucy and Henry? Delightful!

all the questions answered!

I absolutely loved this book! It flowed perfectly from Book 1 and answered all of those burning questions that didn't fit into the first installation. The character describes herself as being inside a Lifetime Movie, and I absolutely loved how it was written to create suspense, yet keep you entertained, yet maintain romance! I definitely recommend this book!

Wade & Savannah’s Angsty Story Concludes!

Wade & Savannah’s Angsty Romance Comes To An Emotional Conclusion! Fans Of To Whom It May Concern Will Be Thrilled To See The Couple’s Happy Ending.

This is book two of The Hart Brothers series. It picks up immediately after the devastating cliffhanger that ends book one, To Whom it May Concern. The Hart brothers include Wade and Henry, though their father was known for his philandering and there is a rumor of at least one illegitimate sibling.

From book one, To Whom it May Concern:

Savannah Carter, twenty-two, is a literary nerd. She lacks skills in the kitchen and lives like a slob, but she loves to belt out original verse in poetry slams. She is intellectually intelligent, yet often comes up lacking in common sense. The new Columbia University grad earned a degree in English along with $100,000 in debt. No longer able to live off of student loans, her rent is about to be due and job prospects in the current economy are bleak. She shares a Manhattan apartment with her best friend Lucy, who just got an internship in a small publishing house and is barely making her half of the rent for the month. Either Savannah finds a job fast, or they may both need to leave New York and return home to their parents. As much as she loves them, Savannah doesn’t want to move back to Florida. She enjoys the city and the ability to be anonymous in a crowd and remake herself at will.

Two job ads catch her attention, but both jobs sound a little questionable with their promises of a high income. Despite the red flags and warning bells, Savannah isn’t deterred from enquiring about them. One leads her to Talia Enterprises in New Jersey. She has high hopes, but when she finds that she cannot get away fast enough, she reluctantly pursues the other position – with The Wade Hart. Even before they graduate from an email exchange to a phone interview, Savannah finds herself infuriated with her potential employer and more than shocked at his inappropriate words. Nevertheless, Savannah soon leaves Lucy and New York behind for a six month assignment as Wade Hart’s live-in personal assistant. Herne Hill Village is located several hours outside of the city, and Hart Manor sits just outside of the small rural town.

Wade Hart, thirty, is a businessman focused on trade in emerging markets. He is also a little crazy. He doesn’t trust people, so he lives a relatively secluded and exceedingly private life in his manor. A Harvard undergrad and Wharton Business School graduate, he runs an impressive business while assisting third-world countries to implement sustainable businesses. His magnetic character and good looks guarantee he gets what he wants, whether in business or in his personal life. A sense of awe and mystery surround him. He prefers to avoid talking about himself, perhaps in part due to an unhappy childhood. His best friend is his brother Henry, two years his junior. Their parents divorced, thanks to their mother, who then got custody, moved to Paris, and sent Wade and Henry away to boarding school in England. They got to spend summers at the Hart Manor with their father, but he had ultimately died of a broken heart. Despite their wealth, it seems the Hart brothers weren’t immune to their own share of problems, and abandonment issues probably rank high on the list.

As Savannah arrives and settles into her new job and home at the Hart Manor, Henry Hart is in town. He is flirty and kind – quite different than his standoffish and moody brother. Wade is hot and cold, and is perfectly comfortable with not well-masked innuendo with his new employee. But Savannah is intelligent and quick in her come backs, and her sense of humor prevents things from getting too heavy. She tries to keep perspective and remain professional, though that is impossible around Wade. But between Henry’s off-hand comments, a kooky waitress named Beryl, Mrs. Louisa Thiefton, and a man named Gordon, there are hints at secrets that threaten turn things upside down. Something is happening that Savannah is clearly not aware of.

From this book:

After a beautiful day together, Wade and Savannah had seemed to have turned the corner in their relationship despite his mother’s interference. Savannah maintains perspective and doesn’t allow herself to get dragged into the drama – until she herself overhears Wade’s desperate call to Henry. According to Wade, Savannah can ruin everything for them, and hiring her was a mistake. Given she just professed her love to Wade, the statement is a strike to her heart. Still she hardens her armor and gives Wade the opportunity to confess his concerns, but it is clear that he intends to keep her at a distance with his secrets. But the biggest blow of all is when he disappears in the middle of the night and leaves her with a note saying he will return in few weeks.

Savannah is lost, lonely, confused, and a little afraid when she awakes to an empty and spooky mansion. She can’t help but take the sudden disappearance personally, and the secrets that seem to be keeping her and Wade apart become her new obsession. Her imagination runs wild as to the hidden truths that put Wade into a panic. Something dark – murder or kidnapping perhaps. After all she hardly knows him – he isn’t exactly an open book. With the theory that her friend Gordon might have some answers, Savannah arranges to see him. Their meeting leaves her with more questions than answers, however. Beryl at the Herne Hill Village Café is of limited use, though she seems to know more than she lets on. Best friend Lucy makes arrangements to work remotely and stay with Savannah. With Savannah’s dog Jolene in tote, Lucy arrives with a take-charge attitude and a mission to find the facts needed to determine if Savannah is really in danger. The plot thickens when their investigation turns to old articles, an investigative reporter named Misha Waterman, and Wade’s former assistant.

In this book the story shifts as Savannah and her best friend Lucy embark on an investigation of the Hart brothers’ secrets. That is the primary focus of the story. Wade and Savannah do have some one-on-one time, but their relationship is on borrowed time unless and until Savannah and Lucy determine that his secrets don’t put Savannah’s safety in jeopardy. Henry reappears in this story, and his personality shines through. He and a certain someone share some entertaining banter. But he and Wade are not about to give up their secrets, and Savannah has a choice to make. Despite the divide, Wade and Savannah have some very steamy moments and their connection hits you in the gut from the start. They eventually earn a teary but happy ending.

Wade and Savannah’s story is a slow burn that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The couple’s banter is fabulous! Wade has a way with words, always twisting things around and shifting the conversation as he pleases. He is intriguing and adorable one moment, but utterly despicable the next. Savannah senses in him a little boy that is drowning in a world of hurt, which is the only excuse she has for indulging him. She usually manages him well, completely capable of sparring him word for word, though she sometimes allows him to get away with something far too easily. Despite her inexperience, she manages to get past the various disses and games that might have sent most girls running from Wade. Savannah doesn’t exactly have the traditional traits of a nurturer, but the fact that she can take Wade’s moods and dish back at him seems to give him a level of comfort with her that he hadn’t ever expected to find.

Wade and Savannah’s angsty romance comes to an emotional conclusion. Fans of To Whom it May Concern will be thrilled to see the couple’s happy ending. Savannah had stepped into a job at an estate filled with painful family memories that continue to hold Wade hostage. There are a few laughs and a teary ending. There are lots of shocking words and actions. The underlying question throughout is: what is behind the mask? What motivates Wade? The answers are given within. The story is plot-driven. The story is written in first person from Savannah’s POV. I rate this book four stars.

I received an advance copy of this book and audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.

As for the Audio: it is nicely performed and mostly consistent with the book.

Worth the read.

This book is definitely worth a read or listen to. The characters are interesting and there's a few twists you wont see coming. The story could use a little polishing however, the female characters are a tad dramatic and naive and yet they give each other life advise that they have zero experience on. A few of their banters go on too long between the two ladies and are a bit ridiculous but the story has good bones. It's definitely the second book in the series (I have not read or listened to the first) so I was a bit lost in the beginning wondering how these relationships were formed, but it's easy enough to figure out the backstory and enjoy this book on it's own.

Part2

Should have been one book. I would have felt better about listening of it would
Not have cost me 2 credits so for one story I paid about $22.00. It just wasn’t that good.
