Detective Roe Olsvik is assigned to the case of Iben's disappearance; he has just turned 60 and is new to the Kristiansund police department. As he interrogates Mariam, he instantly suspects her - but there is much more to this case and these characters than their outer appearances would suggest.

Enthralling

Took a chance on an unknown author. So worth it! This was a perfect book for audio. The voice actor was absolutely wonderful, the various plot threads kept me enthralled and the author’s exploration of interspecies relationships was amusing and rather kinky. The only flaw? I wanted to know Nero’s fate.

Twisty tale that is full of fascinating, well developed characters. I did not guess the ending.
