From best-selling author KJ Nelson comes the highly anticipated sequel to his debut novel.

The Order has failed its mission. The timeline is in shambles.

Gerald Holstrom is a Genous Repeatous, a repeating immortal, a Journeyer. He is one of the founding members of The Order, a group of people that is responsible for maintaining the timeline so other Journeyers can live in relative peace and obscurity.

The only problem is, he doesn’t remember anything before his most recent life. After waking up from a life sentence for killing the woman he is madly in love with, Gerald finds out his memories have been taken from him. Thousands of years, millions of experiences gone in an instant.

Gerald fights desperately to figure out what the man who destroyed his life is up to. He also fights to regain the trust of Aubrey, who believes that Gerald is responsible for her kidnapping.

When Gerald runs into an immortal who remembers everything about Gerald's past, it starts a sequence of events that results in the reset of the timeline to a future that is darker than Gerald could ever imagine.

Will Gerald be able to fix the timeline and get his memories back? Does he even want to be the man he used to be again?

Story was ok, not a fan of cliffhangers. And the narrator is rough. I love imagining Ray Porter performing it, undoubtedly the story would rate higher

Oh man the narrator

I love Time loop novels and this one was really good if you like the first 15 lives of Harry August you will love this.

If you read the reviews for the two books in this series, you'll come across many negative comments about the narration, or the word choices, or the cadence, or the historical accuracy of events or technology around 1957 from the perspective of someone new to re-awakening in that era and without the knowledge that small bits of each timeline might be different from the others. I find the less-than-perfect storytelling and vocal mannerisms are exactly what makes this story thrive. Our main character has lost his long memory and spent most of his life behind bars. He's not an educated storyteller, he's just a barber doing his best to relate to us the situation that he's in. Same for the other characters we encounter. Each one has nuances that fit their backgrounds, ages, and social comforts just right. It makes for a highly immersive listening experience. All that said, this second book adds new characters and twists and layers without sacrificing the solid foundation from Book 1. Jimmy Hodson knocks it out of the park with his portrayals of the people we encounter. [Disclosure: I received this title for free and listened at 2.0x.]

Continuation with more quirks & unexpected twists

I’ve read dozens of time travel series and this is one of my favorites! I can’t wait for book 3!

Great Follow up to Book 1!

I couldn’t stop listening. It’s a pretty cool story very imaginative. I hope there are many more to come.

Awesome continuation.

loved the characters. Hoping the rest will be on audible. I drive a lot. Hard to read books anymore.

Great storyline

I liked the first book. I really didn’t care for the second book and would not recommend it. Maybe it’s me, but it just doesn’t make
sense. So, you live each life over and over for thousands of years, there is a sect of the “quasi immortals” that want to introduce technology to the past and basically take over the world. This is somehow completed in one lifetime for Demetri and there are now cell phones etc in the 1960’s. So how did all the infrastructure get built so quickly? How did a satellite infrastructure get launched so quickly. So, when the J’s die they’re basically reborn in a parallel dimension? It makes no sense that when Aubrie is saved why the MC would even care about her feeling if she is going to wake up and not even remember the events that occurred. The Arthur is detailed on mundane things and vague about other things. I get he’s a prison barber trying to figure things out but his aloofness or over concern is aggravating.

A story that is hard to wrap your mind around

I had high hopes for this series. Book 1 was ok.

First off, I have never written a review, and this book was so bad, i broke my rule of not posting reviews.

The mc is a beta sheep. For someone who supposedly has lived for about 100 year, half of which is in a dangerous prision, he spends 90% of this book making the most rookie mistakes, than a 6 year old would spot a mile away.

When the person he supposedly loves more than anything in existance is threatened, he meekly allow it, because he feels guilty for hurting the agressors feelings in the past.

He is outplayed, out outmatched by 3rd grade thugs who have the intellegence of a clam between the lot of them.

He allows anyone and everyone to lead him around by the nose, he refuses to make any decisions of consequence.

He embodies everything you would want a mc to not do.

I would give negative stars if possible.

The narrator was great.

The MC is a moron.
