Great story

I really enjoyed listening to Reaper of Earth. I’m going to read the next one rather than waiting for the audiobook to come out since I really want to know what happens next.

Different

I am used to reading about certain types of reapers. This author did something different that I have not come across. I'll admit I did find that hard to listen to only because I have known them one way and it did not feel real but there are twist which I was expecting because the main character who is a reaper is different.
My only negative is that I found she did not try hard enough at times. I felt she gave up to easily. Of course this could only be me who thinks this way.
Would I still recommend it? I would actually. If you like YA books about reapers with twists and turns than this is for you.

Great start to a unique series

This is a promising start to a new series by Jen L. Grey, with a unique twist on reapers. The plot is intriguing and the characters well thought out. The narration is on point and kept my attention. Can't wait for the book 2!

Just Awesome

OMG these characters are just Amazing I just loved listening to them being brought to life by Shelley she did a fantabulous job. I cant wait to listen to book 2

Reaper!

Great story of a young girl who has to learn to become a reaper. The adventure she goes through! Narrator was awesome!

Intriguing take on reapers

This story is a fun YA with lots of surprising takes on reapers, demons, witches and more, with magic, action and intrigue. It has vivid characters and lead smoothly into book 2. I found the narrator a bit monotone and stilted but she does a fairly nice job of differentiating between characters and her voice seems to fit the main character well, which is good since it’s written in first person. A light, fantastical YA and not too long of an audiobook—perfect to listen while at work, commuting or doing chores around the house.

Unexpected

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, and to be honest it took a bit for me to get into it. Once I did I enjoyed it . There were some confusing parts and I didn't really understand the relationship between her and Charlie. one minute he hated her and was horrible and next he's saving her. But even with that I thought it was pretty good. I want to listen to the next one and see where this is going. I really think it's going to be a good series. Its keeping me interested.

Just okay

I wasn't blown away by this book. While the world seems interesting enough from what's revealed, the author doesn't really spend much time giving us the lay of the land. Like, we find out as an oh-by-the-way at one point that there's magic, and later that there are different dimensions. While I can understand not wanting to spend page upon page just explaining ad nauseum, these revelations felt pretty abrupt to me when they happened, and they were really important to the plot. The story made sense and was interesting, and you wanted to root for the main character. But I also found myself wishing frequently that she would stand up for herself, as she spent most of the book as everyone's doormat. And boy are most of the other characters really hateful to her, literally.

All that said, I do plan to continue the series to find out what happens next, and to see the main character hopefully come in to her own.

GOOD READ!

I enjoyed it! The narration was good. The author did a good job with the character builds and plot. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her books. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

weak plot

The plot is weak with huge jumps required to believe what is happening. Characters are not interesting or unique.
