Piper is feeling a bit overwhelmed. With Seiya and Lyre missing, Ash recovering from near fatal injuries, and the Gaians picking fights with daemons all over the city, a girl can't help but think she might be in over her head. And this time she's on her own.

Before she even has a chance to investigate the Gaians' new stockpile of mysterious, high-tech weaponry, an old enemy ambushes her: Samael's henchman, Raum. He wants Ash's help and won't take "get lost" for an answer. She doesn't know if she can trust Raum, but even more than that, she can't trust herself with Ash. Sooner or later he'll catch up to her, and she fears she won't be able to walk away from him a second time.

Despite her feelings, it will take their combined strength to face a frightening discovery about the Gaians. She and Ash begin to realize that the daemon war is coming to Earth, and they might be the only ones who can stop it - if it's not already too late.

Great

This book has one of the few stories involving inner turmoil that I could understand and not shout an obvious answer at the main character. The book is cunning with the political games being played and shows off the different "sides". very enjoyable

Only thing I dislike is the wait for. The next edition in Piper, Ash, lyre, and Seiya. Please hurry.😊

So Good!

I’m loving the journey that Piper is going & has gone through up to this point. Though it’s been a rough road filled with fear, shock, torment, & sad to say, death; she has also had a moment of clarity, enlightenment, & a little semblance of joy & rapture. Although, there are times when she frustrates me; I can still understand the feelings she’s dealing with, given her age. I mean, we’ve all live through varying degrees of them when we were teenagers…right? I Can still remember some of the most intense moments during my teenage/young adult years, although I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a draconian & incubus among my friends. (Well, unless you want to consider playing D&D constantly…or was that just me? ;D)
What makes this series a wonderful read (well, listen, in this case), is great character development, relatability; as well as, surprises, intrigue, & emotional drama.
I really enjoy Annette’s storytelling & can’t wait to continue the journey with Piper, Ash, Lyre, & the rest of the entourage. I’m looking forward to listening to the other book series that Annette has written…once I’m finished with this one. So I’m off to rejoin Piper, in the next book. Wonder what’s in store for her and the gang next ..?? :)
Oh, and just an fyi…I would LOVE to have a dragonette as a companion, too! Lol!

Truly wonderful

I was hesitant to listen to these. I now wholly recommend that you give them a listen. I am both surprised and impressed. Piper and Ash's love brought tears to my eyes. The action scenes are exceptionally well written and detailed. I will be buying physical copies of the series to have on my shelves!

I'm flying through these books. I seriously love this series. Annette Marie is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!

One of my new favorite authors!

I picked these books up on a whim, wanting to try something different. They fit the bill and I listened to them none stop while working and around the house. The world is vivid and easily imagined while the characters are a perfect blend of flawed but redeamable!

Most enjoyable. The intrigues and heartaches are overwhelming. I hope there will be a happy ending for Piper and Ash. Very well written and performed.

Very good story and narration

The author weaves a complex and interesting story, tying it all together through the series very well. Looking forward to listening to the rest of the books in the series!
