Resumen del Editor

Raven can breathe life into you, or siphon the life from you - the choice is yours.

They say your life flashes before your eyes when you die. But what you didn't know - your last thoughts determine whether Raven becomes your grim reaper or your saving grace.

Death has a sinister plan, but his favorite female reaper has been given a new power that will combat his secret mission. The only issue - she hasn't discovered it yet.

Will Raven put the pieces together in time, or will Purgatory be destroyed forever?

Nice YA/NA Urban Fantasy

Any additional comments?

Raven had spunk and attitude which made for a strong character with backbone. I love stories with romance, suspense and enough action and intrigue to keep the curiosity peaked. The book has all of those things along with a great narrator to set the stage. Suzanne Elise Freeman did an excellent job. An enjoyable listen.

A fast paced, quick read set in purgatory.

Would you listen to Raven's Breath again? Why?

Yes, I may listen to it again before listening to book two in the series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Raven - she had attitude and wasn't taken in by Death.

Which character – as performed by Suzanne Elise Freeman – was your favorite?

Holli - she did the ditzy blond really well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I wasn't emotionally moved but I was intrugued to see what would happen next and to find out what Death was up to.

Any additional comments?

This was the first book I have read by this author and I am interested in reading more. Raven's Breath is the first book in The Women of Purgatory series. The main character is a raven haired, leather clad, winged grim reaper. She befriends the newest female reaper who is more of a ditzy blond. They both work for Death, who appears to be hiding something. The story unfolds with conspiracy, mystery, adventure and romance.

Didn't really like this book

What does Suzanne Elise Freeman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was good but I just wish the male voices sounded more like a guys voice but over all she did great...

An interesting take on the grim reaper.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book and was pleased to find it hard more than just the traditional reaper story line. The addition of the Norse mythology is a bit baffling, but it seemed to have worked well enough. The description of Purgatory was interesting and reminded me a bit of Grim Fandango. The biggest issue I had with the book was the rather awkward love story and the convenient ending. Otherwise, it would have made for a very solid fantasy novel.

I found Suzanne Elise Freeman to be a wonderful narrator who gave a great performance. Her tone was very appropriate for the book: a bit of humor and a bit of seriousness.

A nice fantasy with an interesting take on the grim reaper.

Silly plot, silly character, silly everything

Would you try another book from Tish Thawer and/or Suzanne Freeman?

Not based on this one. The narration was good enough I guess, but the book was just not very good.

What was most disappointing about Tish Thawer’s story?

The wasted potential? A heavy setting could have allowed for a heavier story. Not some teenage fantasy that doesn't even begin to search for depth.

What didn’t you like about Suzanne Freeman’s performance?

It was good enough I guess. The male voices weren't very good and the main character sounded very childish (but I guess she is, so...)

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story was coherent enough. It wasn't as bad as reading fanfic or twilight for instance.

Any additional comments?

Even sillyness can be well done, the book is too formulaic. I kept waiting for it to surprise me or become slightly interesting... it never did.

Not for dudes.

What would have made Raven's Breath better?

Not that it's bad, I just think your average guy isn't going to enjoy this. Because... it's not written for guys.

What was most disappointing about Tish Thawer’s story?

Best enjoyed by women, I would guess.

Which scene was your favorite?

...

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I like the narrator. She was actually quite good.

Any additional comments?

Narrator very good. This book is not for dudes.
