Arthur C. Clarke was born in Minehead in 1917. During the Second World War he served as an RAF radar instructor, rising to the rank of Flight-Lieutenant. After the war he won a BSc in physics and mathematics with first class honours from King's College, London. One of the most respected of all science-fiction writers, he also won Kalinga Prize, The Aviation Space-Writers Prize and The Westinghouse Science Writing Prize. He shared an OSCAR nomination with Stanley Kubrick for the screenplay of 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was based on his story, 'The Sentinel'. He lived in Sri Lanka from 1956 until his death in 2008.

My most beloved story. Outstanding.

Please do not miss this series. You won't regret it. However the second book Rama II is missing from the series. Please make sure that the narrator of the whole series will read that book too. I will definitely purchase it when it comes out. Thanks Audible.

Even better than I remembered

I remember reading this series in high school and have very fond memories. The audio version was amazing.

Rama Revealed

We find God. She/He doesn’t apologize for the inconvenience. But the authors should have. I’ve now finished the entire Rama saga. I should have stopped with Rendezvous with Rama. That story was excellent. The sequels were only filler. Read them if you’re curious, or if you’ve run out of other - better - books to read. Otherwise, if you skip them, you won’t miss anything.

Not worth the time investment

I patiently finished this since I’d come this far, but it wasn’t really worth it. I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone, I’m just not impressed at all considering what a rich world had already been created. Really disappointing.
