Resumen del Editor

April 1831. Lord Julian is a widower whose mother wants him to marry her best friend’s daughter, Miss Sophie Wilkie, whom he last saw as a silent and skinny twelve-year-old. However, his mother is nothing if not persuasive, and Julian reluctantly accompanies her to London to meet the young lady.

Lord Devlin Monroe, Julian’s nephew, is enjoying an extraordinarily pleasant bachelor life until Miss Sophie Wilkie and her aunt, Miss Roxanne Radcliffe, appear in London society, and he suddenly finds himself wondering how he could have enjoyed midnight alone.

Julian and Devlin must discover what really happened three years earlier when Julian’s first wife was found dead. If they don’t find out the truth, their lives could be ruined. And there is another, even more perfidious, danger that lurks in the shadows, waiting.

It was okay

This was not one of my favorite Catherine Coulter books. I just did not find the relationships between the four main characters that believable. Too many attempted kidnappings in one book to one character. Anne Flosnik, as usual, did a great job as narrator.

Really Struggled to Keep Going

What did you like best about Prince of Ravenscar? What did you like least?

It wasn't a bad story once you got to the last 25% of the book. The first 75% of this book just drug on and on. To be honest, I can't believe that I stuck with it until the end. There were a couple times that I asked myself why I continued to listen to it. The end is good though...you just have to get there.

Would you recommend Prince of Ravenscar to your friends? Why or why not?

No. I only kept going until it finally got good because I didn't want to waste a credit.

Would you be willing to try another one of Anne Flosnik’s performances?

No. I really did not like this narrator. She made the female characters sound childish and whiny. It was hard to reconcile some of the voices with the fierce, sassy demeanor of the female characters.

Did Prince of Ravenscar inspire you to do anything?

No

Any additional comments?

I don't have anything against this author...this just wasn't for me. Long and drawn with a subpar narrator. Not a great combination.

Breath taking fun thriller

This is a fun historic romantic thriller. I love Catherine Coulter and she writes these books. You become transported into the story and you forget about everything around you. This book was so exciting even with though I had tons of stuff going I still was able to find time to read and it really helped relieve my stress.

Way too slow

while I enjoyed the first part, the second half became repetitive and thus boring. tried changing speed but they didn't help

Who really wrote this book?

I have been reading Cathering Coulter's books for many years and fell in love with her characters and story plots - but as hard as I tried, this one never ever engaged at all on any level. I really encourage you to read her early historical romances - but do not waste a credit or your time on this one. I saw the bad review and decided to give it a chance because of her past books - I am sorry that I did.

Like a ping pong ball on a concrete floor

This book was all over the place, It makes you wonder who actually wrote it. Or where was the editor to rein this in. The narrator was the only bright spot on it. Since I had read the entire series up to it, I felt compelled to finish it. Though it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Where has Catherine Coulter Gone?

Anne Flosnik, performance was outstanding, but even with that said she at times seemed eager to finish this boring dribble.

I used to be excited when I saw a new Coulter historical romance but after the Valcourt Heiress, and now this one, I am done. For those of you like me who enjoyed the Bride Series and the Magic Trilogy, this has absolutely none of that appeal. It's not really a romance and the suspense aspect is thread bare. To say that it is a Sherbrooke novel, is a poor attempt to get those of us that enjoyed that series to buy this book.

PREDICTABLE WITH A TWIST

Unfortunately, this is not the best Catherine Coulter story. Of all the brides series, this one could be skipped. I am a CC lover but WOW. This plot went everywhere. I was also sad to not have very many of the characters from the other books in the story. From the beginning one can figure out who the killer was. The 2nd hero obvious had an allergy to the sun since he was so pale. It could have been explained and moved on. Why was the story so based on this issue. Trust me that story line got old. Even the characters got confused as to who was dating who. Did something happen midway of writing the book???? It was never explained why the change. The saving grace of this audiobook is the narrator Ann Flosnik. She always sets the tone to make one feel like they are in England. The last two books of this series has been very disappointing. I often go back and listen to the other books in the series. I am glad this book was part of the Romance Package so I did not have to waste a credit.
