Step into a world where wit is sharp, glances speak volumes, and the dance of manners conceals deeper truths. Pride and Prejudice isn't just a novel—it's a perfectly tuned social symphony composed by one of literature's most insightful observers, Jane Austen.
This timeless classic captures the tension between pride and vulnerability, societal expectation and personal desire, all through language as elegant as the world it critiques. In its pages—and now in your ears—you'll encounter unforgettable characters whose joys, flaws, and revelations still echo today.
Let Austen's artistry carry you to a place where decorum is everything, yet emotion wins the day. Whether it's your first visit to Longbourn or a cherished return, this audiobook promises not only storytelling at its finest, but the quiet thrill of rediscovering the brilliance behind every ironic turn.

If someone told me that this audiobook was recorded by a student reading aloud to their high-school or college peers I would be less surprised than that this was released as a professional publication.
The reader is flat and emotionless, and, with a staggering, uneven tempo, this leads to some passages becoming difficult and droning. Moreover, it is dictated very much like a cold-reading: there are pauses in odd places that I can only surmise was caused by a page turning, peculiar mispronouciations, occasionally even backtracking in the middle of a sentence and re-reading it. There is absolutely no differentiation between reading the narration or characters, and positively no individual "voices" for any of the characters, which can make dialogues difficult to keep track of, and unquestionably sucks the life out of vibrant and heated exchanges throughout.
The sound quality is mediocre with a mild echo as if the book was read in an empty, unpadded room, and there is no pop filter or noise cancelation, so breathing, periodic page turning, and even a rare microphone bump are all audible. On the positive side, the reader does have natural control over their plosives.
TL/DR? Find a different unabridged version and buy/listen to it; don't buy this one. (If it's all your local library has, or your listening for free you can get through it.)
