I read a snippet of this story on Rachelvincent.com and have been sitting on pins and needles ever since. I loved the two previous books and have waited for this one for a year. I'll let you know how wonderful it is. Happy Listening!

Fayth goes to trial.

This series seems to only get more intense as it progresses. This book starts during Fayth's trial for infecting and then killing Andrew. While at the mountain retreat for the trial, the council members are approached by a brewin (a were-bear) named Keller with complaints about some strays in the area. In the midst of the trial, the gathered alphas and enforcers are now faced with not only the strays brought to their attention by Keller, but a 13-year-old tabby, Kaci, of unknown origins that knows absolutely nothing about being a were-cat. Fayth is the only one able to get through to the frightened girl, but does so without permission, bringing punishment down on not only her, but others. This book contains plenty of turmoil and anger from many parties. Fighting is included in the book, but the most graphic and disturbing scene includes very little fighting and a naked stray in human form in the throes of scratch fever. The book does NOT feature a HEA ending and has a bit of a cliffhanger. I hate the position Fayth and Marc find themselves in come the end of the book. Nonetheless, I want to know what happens next and will be continuing the series. Unfortunately, I get the feeling things are going to get much worse before they get better.

Pride is the 3rd book in Rachel Vincents werecat series. If you are new to the series read Stray and Rogue first. I listened to this book in about two days wondering about Faythe's and Marcs future, the unknown tabby and the missing hikers. It was fast paced and I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the 4th book coming out in July 09.

Fantastic read!

I absolutely LOVE the entire Werecat Series. Rachel Vincent has created a seducing world that 'lies just beneath the surface' of our real one. It is believable, inventive, full of intrigue, and consistently exciting. I have been placing her 'scheduled release' dates in my calendar so I have the next book as soon as it arrives! Faith is a likeable & rebellious character with honorable morals and her story, life, and relationships are ALL interesting! Can't wait for the next book in March of 2010! *There are sex scenes - not frequent or overly prolific (more romantic in nature) but still detailed & I recommend the reader be at least 18.

Can't wait for the next one...

This book was great. I couldn't stop listening to it. Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next one.

I just liked it

I Liked the first 2 so I got this one And I liked it just as well...

Drama, drama, drama!

Enough with the emotional turmoil. I have had the hardest time with this book becuase of the series of unfortunate events. I love Faith & Mark as a couple, but all the drama is giving me a headache. The plot and storyline are great as always, but give the girl a break. The situations are spinning out of the realm of believable quickly.

This series gets better with each book.

OK, so, the first book in the series, the heroine is whiny and bratty, and at times, very hard to like. But with each installment, she grows, and you really begin to root for her. This book adds new and interesting characters to the werecat series, and really makes you want to listen to the next. The council that is trying the case of Faythe makes you want to grind your teeth, they are so narrow-minded, but it really adds to the suspense of the installment. I really wish that the author would explore a series with Jace as the main character, because I find him really intriguing. The narrator, who I did not like at all at the beginning of the series, is also growing on me. Now I can't think of someone else voice being anyone but Faythe. As with any series, you will want to definitely start with the first book, or you may have no idea what is going on.

Good story. But a bit Annoyed...

This one started out ok and ended ok. (**Spoilers***) But the only thing that sticks out for me right now is how annoyed I was with how Faith handels Kaci... I feel more motherly than Faith by far! And this is a book about turning into a cat and having instincts of a cat even in human form. So it's odd that the main character would have the complete lack of protective instincts. But the author doesn't point out any instincts in this case... If the author meant differently I can't see it. And this is the most annoying thing about Faith. She thinks of herself way too much when I can't stop worrying about Kaci. And in response I begin to hate Faith. It's a very bad idea to make your readers dislike your main character for half a book! And I might as well go ahead and say the same thing goes for the next book (Prey)... I feel like the author is actually trying to make it understood that Faith doesn't have a motherly instinct at all. You might have thought she showed some with her younger cousin in the cage (whichever book that was...) But in book 3 and 4 faith clearly doesn't worry or help Kaci enough! So I can only assume this is the authors intension. But for what reason I just don't know, besides making some unknown point at the cost of losing some of her audience... Whatever the thing is she is trying to tell the readers, she is trying too hard...
