Acerca de esta escucha

President Elect is book five in the best-selling Luke Stone thriller series, which begins with Any Means Necessary (book one).

When China bankrupts the US economy by calling in its debt and by shutting down the South China Sea, Americans are desperate for radical change. President Susan Hopkins, running for re-election, is floored as she watches the returns come in. Her rival, a madman senator from Alabama who ran on the promise to deport all Chinese and to nuke China's ships out of the South China Sea, has, inconceivably, won.

President Hopkins, though, knows she cannot yield power. To do so would be to spark World War Three.

Knowing the election was stolen, President Hopkins needs 48 hours to prove it, and to stop the escalating war games with the Chinese. With no one left to turn to, she summons Luke Stone, the former head of an elite FBI para-military team. The stakes could not be higher as she commands him to save America from its greatest threat: its own president-elect.

Yet as one shocking twist follows another, it may, even for Luke Stone, be too late.

A political thriller with non-stop action, dramatic international settings and heart-pounding suspense, President Elect is book five in the best-selling and critically-acclaimed Luke Stone series, an explosive new series that will leave you listening late into the night.

each book in the series continues to get better. I even listen to this one twice back to back because it was that good and I felt I missed some details. it still has the nuclear versus nucular miss pronunciation but the storyline is great.

they keep getting better

I rarely write reviews, but had to share that Jack Mars is truly gifted. He holds your attention from the start. I couldn’t stop listening once I started this book. I loved the narrator he gets five stars hands down. Can’t wait to listen to another book he narrates. Bottom line is President Elect is a book you definitely should purchase.

Jack Mars Does it Again

Lots of familiar elements. So much seemed to be a present day scenarios. No twists.

Are you a seer?

Another good read

I am as conservative politically as anyone. However, that doesn't mean i try to read into novels a political slant one way or the other. Even if Mr. Mars considers himself a liberal, i thought he did a great job taking a current situation and making a novel out of it. The characters he has created are ones that i have enjoyed and the action never disappoints. I think Mr. Kelly does a fantastic job with trying to bring a book to life with his attempts at different accents and dialogue. My only disappointment now is that i am on his last book. Total bummer.

Don't read to much into a story.

Seemed vety short, like a transition piece. Surprised by quick Becca exit and I appreciate it. I liked the Trump/Gore situation and personality similarities. The combination made it fresh and the insanity of the scenario allowed for the ability to completely disregard the outcome. The LS and SH relationship is unique but surprisingly not unexpected or unwanted. Nice setup/catchup story.

Short and Sweet

I really enjoy this writer, he wraps you in the story so you are drawn in with every chapter. The Luke Stone story is incredible!

Loved it. Narration was perfect and the development of rhe story was excellent. However it was a bit choppy as a follow up the book 4.

The word is “nuclear” - properly pronounced “nuke - lee - er”. As a reader, KC, you should be aware of this. I don’t know if you mispronounce the word intentionally, or if that’s the way Jack Mars wrote it in his books, or if you are just lazy. I cringe every time you say that word in the recordings.

Now, I’m from Bawlmer (known to most people as Baltimore), and us natives excel at butchering “the King’s English”. Books have been written about the way we speak - at least in local conversations. But proper pronunciation and enunciation are possible if and when we choose to do so.

I’m begging you - make the effort to pronounce “nuclear” properly. There is not a “u” after the “c”, and the last four letters spell “lear” - as in King Lear. I don’t believe anyone has ever asked a friend if they wanted to go see a performance of King Lur!

Issue with the reader
