Resumen del Editor

The New York Times best-selling series continues with a thrilling revelation - brand-new tribes of dragons!

Some secrets are deadly. It's no secret that Sundew wants to destroy the HiveWings. It's her life's mission to exact revenge on the tribe that tried to wipe out the LeafWings and ripped every tree from the surface of Pantala.

Every tree, that is, except the wild and dangerous Poison Jungle, where the surviving LeafWings have been hiding since the war. Hiding, plotting, and waiting for a dragon like Sundew, who is uniquely qualified to bring down the Hives.

There are dark secrets in the jungle, though - some that Sundew is keeping, and some that she's only just beginning to discover. And now that a new war is upon them, Sundew and her friends must unearth the oldest secret in the jungle - even if what they find has the power to destroy them all.

My WOF story

Prologue
Dead dragons were everywhere. Blood. Blood. Blood. Dead Hivewings. Dead Silkwings. Dead Leafwings. Silver panted and froze. I’m the corner of her eye she say her a spear threw her mothers heart. “No no no!” Silver screamed. Her little brother was hidden under her wings. Her brother wailed quietly. “Poor kid. He might be scarred for life.” Silver thought. Silver kept pushing on. She saw little dragonets scrambling around, using pieces of wood as tables or beds. Silver offered to help them. But every time she’d try to help them they’d run away. “Tiger?” “Yes?” Her little brother anwererd. “Hold on tight” silver said. Little talons wrapped around her neck slowly. “Where are we going?” Her little brother asked. “We’re going to the Phyria.”

Please stop being so toxic

Ok so first things first, I’ve read a lot of reviews about this book and it makes me super upset to see all the hate and toxic comments towards other comments on the relationship between Sundew and Willow. If parents don’t want their kids to read about that stuff then that’s THEIR decision. Some people have been saying “oh so you don’t want your kid to read about charters being gay but your fine with your kids reading about war, death and a character disemboweling themself” I can get how that’s confusing but just hear me out.. ok so War is something we all know about and it’s consistently happening, and yes war can be very traumatic but the way that the book betrays it makes the war that’s going on in the books not very traumatic. But the difference between War and death and being gay is that like I said before war is always going on and there’s so much War in our history and so is death. But the LGBTQ+ Community has been very political and toxic at the moment. And yes war is political too. But war is very different. War is a fight for justice and freedom and settlement. But the way that gay people are being so toxic to homophobic people is terrible and unfair. If people don’t like LGBTQ+ then that’s THEIR decision. And I get it that homophobic people have been terrible back. Both are in the wrong. If your gay and you meet someone who isn’t or is homophobic then ok, don’t bash them about being so terrible and hateful and homophobic people should do the same. Ok so moving on. People have also been saying that it’s ok for a charter to disembowel himself but heaven forbid that someone’s gay. Ok so I haven’t read DarkStalkers book and I’m sure many moms who’ve read this book might have done the same. Now I will not make like of Arctic disemboweling himself and neither should no one. I think that that is something that should not be put in a kids book. The general audience for the WoF series is 7-8+ and if you have a 7 yr old hear the detail of what Arctic did to himself is very terrible to hear at that age. “Ok so moms are ok with Arctic disemboweling himself but oh no a characters gay!” Ok just stop right there. You have no idea if moms are ok with that and I’m sure they’re not. What Arctic did was way worse then Sundew and Willow I admit but both things and be staring for a child to hear depending on how they grew up. Please stop being rude to moms who are just trying to care for their children. Please protect speaking rights.. ok if you’ve read this far thank you I know that’s a lot to read but thanks for reading :)

LOVED this book

I adore this book. Bumblebee is adorable. The plot is thicc. Dialogue ON POINT.

Now, to address the sapphic situation. I notice how literally every reviewer who has an issue with this relationship doesn't have anything to say about other relationships. Y'all talk about being appropriate for children, but say N O T H I N G about dragons being burned alive, abused, poisoned, their faces melted off, etc. Nothing about any graphic detail. Y'all look foolish, lmao.

And because I haven't seen anyone else say it, Sundew and Willow is actually a very well written and sweet ship. They have to address genuine issues within their relationship as well as outside. They handle it by expressing themselves and grow closer with every problem they solve. This relationship doesn't just represent sapphic people. It represents healthy, nuanced relationships regardless of who's involved.

The last thing I want to say about this book is that it's fantastic at picking apart the nuance of emotions. It doesn't go down the route of "anger is bad. Never be angry". It's the best book so far, and it infuriates me that people are refusing to give it a chance, just because they heard about the lesbians.

Really good!

I loved the story! I don’t really care about the gay dragons; in fact, I thought Willow was a boy until I read the reviews. Anyway, why all the hate?!?

Great book series

I enjoy the book series and this is the only book I was able to read last, so I am making my comment here— this is a great book overall, there are minor details that I think were left out, but never the less, this book is one of the best.

SNUDOO!

Okay, I’m not homophobic, and I think that making Sundew and Willow lesbian was the frosting on the cake for this book, but I see where SOME of the parents are coming from, although not all of them are correct. If your kid is K-2 or K-3, this might not be the best book them until you explain what LGBTQ is. This book is good for kids who can accept that Sundew and Willow are gay and parents who are willing to let their kids listen to this. But I also can see why it could be confusing for younger kids, so just read the reviews before you buy it! This book is absolutely amazing and just beautiful writing! *chefs kiss* I would just like it if people could be more accepting towards the LGBTQ community.
