This short book is a slightly expanded account of this amazing adventure, taken from the diary I kept along the way. It was one of the best journeys I have ever undertaken and, I hope, it will inspire some of you armchair adventurers out there to attempt something similar. So, instead of saying wistfully to yourself: "I wish I could do that..." how about, instead, crying out, "I'm going to do that!"—and then do it!
