Resumen del Editor

A fallacy of logic is an error in reasoning. It is a bad argument. It may appear convincing, but it doesn’t actually prove anything.

A phallus of logic is a total dick who lies for personal or political gain. They use deception to influence your beliefs and choices. If you don’t know what to listen for, they can easily succeed.

There are hundreds of named fallacies but no official list. Different sources will define a given fallacy a little differently. Many fallacies overlap in some way or are specific types of a broader fallacy. Some go back to the days of Socrates and Aristotle, which is why they have fancy Latin names you can use to sound smart at parties. Others have been identified along the way. Don’t worry about memorizing every fallacy - that’s for weirdos. With each new fallacy you learn about, you will become more fluent at listening skeptically and detecting broken logic. You will probably end up remembering a few fallacies anyway, you big nerd.

Each section of this audiobook will showcase a particular fallacy with real-life examples. The examples will be related to issues and events including presidential campaigns, LGBTQ rights, police brutality, CIA torture, Planned Parenthood, Trump University, evolution, and more. While this audiobook could have easily been written with an even split between Democrats and Republicans, it wasn’t. Most of the examples involve fallacies committed by conservatives. There will be some liberal arguments critiqued here, and some Republicans will be defended, but the majority of this audiobook will analyze faulty logic from the right-wing. Some of the repeat offenders in this audiobook include Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Rudy Giuliani, Bill O’Reilly, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and Ray Comfort.

While there are plenty on both sides using fallacies to support their claims, the GOP has risen to a different level. It is only by ignoring fact, science, and reason that one can support current Republican positions. Claiming that evolution is a lie, pizza is a vegetable, and Trump is a decent guy requires a unique brand of fallacious reasoning.

Funny & Sad

An entertaining take that provides some needed perspective on where we’re at. The narrator really brought the writing to life.

OMG, OMG, OMG this book was so good!

When you have a president like trump it is important that everyone knows what a fallacy of logic is and in this book a man ahead of his time Abby Silverman Tried to warn the world. Although Britain Ian launched during the 2016 election. He doesn’t let those guilty at the highest level get away with it. Fallacies of logic is something that most people learn either when they’re young or the first year of college, but unfortunately because most Trump voters didn’t go to college and I’ll probably guilty of this exact thing they don’t know about it. Be a good friend worn a Trump voter I mean Trump is a man who wanted the world to shoot up disinfectant to get rid of corona. Although Trump is not the only by far perpetrator of this he does tend to be friends with the other guilty parties and although you would think just watching a republican’s lip move would be warning enough that they’re lying this book helps you with a big heads up. I love this book and in all seriousness the thing I love most about it is that these are not just empty allegations All accusations to degrade the intended party. This is a book of what they said and then the fax. Like trumps civil war Memorial for a battle that never happened and when I asked about this and why the historian say the battle never happened there, he said how do they know where they there? He’s in idiot, but I bet you knew that. I highly recommend this book and totally think David did a great job now reading it he had the perfect voice for it and his tone and Inflections were perfect. I wish Mr. Silverman would write an updated version of this book, but why would it be more lies by Trump and other Republicans and more facts that Mr. Silverman could write the back and Bob that would be just down for fun and probably pointless. Still wish you would ride it though. Do you self a favor and go get this book if you love Trump especially go get this book. So worth the credit.

A Book for Our Times

The book helps explain how so many Americans were hoodwinked by the Republicans' rhetoric. If more people had read it we might not be in the situation we are in now. Well written and funny, the book is a must read for every thinking person. Perfectly narrated. Loved it and I'm recommending it to all my friends.
