Annoying chapter intro music

I nearly returned this copy of the audiobook, not because of the story or the narrator, but because I got quickly annoyed at the music the company decided to add to the beginning and end of each chapter. The same small snippet of music was used both to begin and end the chapters, often almost cutting off the narrator as she finished speaking.

I did enjoy the book, though I will think twice before buying something by this publisher again.

My favorite Jane Austen book!

I love the story and the reader. I’ve listened to this version several times and it’s loveliness never gets old!

Persuasion is one of my all time favorites from Jane Austen. Elizabeth Klett did a wonderful job.. She is one favorite narrators so I had obtain this version of Persuasion. Love it.

Loved this version!

I loved Elizabeth Klett’s narration of Persuasion. I am extremely picky when it comes to voice and style, and Klett really hit the mark. The only reason I deducted a star was because I found the intro and outro music for each chapter to be annoying after a while.

Persuasion

I have been a fan of Jane Austen since high school, and Persuasion has been a book I've read repeated. I'm also a fan of Elizabeth Klett, whom I first discovered while using Librivox, a website dedicated to free read-aloud renditions of books no longer under copyright. I have downloaded numerous Elizabeth Klett narrated audiobooks via Librivox for several years, and I've listened to them while driving to Louisiana from Texas and vice versa. My experience with Persuasion was no different, I listened to it in the school pick-up line, while jogging, at night before bed, and whenever I found myself with a free mental moment to finish devouring this story. I could not stop listening.

Elizabeth is a compelling reader, she highlighted the story in ways that I had missed in my previous readings. The characters came to life, each with their own eccentricities, and at long last, mature, unwavering love and patience was well-rewarded. Being married now for 17 years, these are sentiments I cannot help but appreciate.

When Elizabeth offered this book on her Facebook fan page, I jumped at the opportunity to listen and leave a review. I was not disappointed, and you won't be either.

Jane Austen's Persuasion read by Elizabeth Klett

I love the way Ms Klett brings to life the characters. Her voice perfectly conveys to us the irony of Austen's narrative and the character's individual personalities are distinct and easy to follow.

I recommend this reading of Persuasion to my fellow Austen lovers!
