Resumen del Editor

Kate’s creed: Thou shalt embrace singledom and be unbelievably, inconceivably happy. Yeah, right.

Kate Meadows, a successful San Francisco artist, is this close to giving up on finding a nice, solid man with whom to spend her life. So when not one, but two eligible bachelors enter her orbit in rapid succession, it seems too good to be true. And it may be.

Michael Palmier, a nationally-known makeup artist, is actually flirting with Kate, rather than her physically flawless housemate. Trouble is, he seems more intent on doling out the business cards of beauty professionals and plastic surgeons than discovering Kate’s inner beauty. Is he trying to stamp out every last bit of self-esteem she has?

As for Clive Alexander, the good doctor sends Kate’s pulse skittering every time he’s near. Too bad the man is only interested in her work - and doesn’t think she’s much to look at. It’s enough to send a girl running for her paint-splattered, relaxed-fit jeans, and swearing off men altogether. But after undergoing a makeover from Michael’s staff, Kate suddenly finds herself the recipient of admiring glances. Maybe she should try contacts, consider some fancy dental work, and - you know - that mole really could stand to go.

The question is, what kind of work will Kate do on herself? And who is she really trying to please?

The Little Foxes

What a great way to depict the everyday Christian struggles. How we let things, people, ambition, etc distract us from what we know God would have us to do. The romance was swoony with the right amount of tension. Overall, a good read.

More of this kind of book, please!

I really enjoyed listening to Perfecting Kate, Splitting Harriet (my personal favorite) after reading them years ago. I remember liking Stealing adda as well. I wish Mrs. Leigh would write and produce more audiobooks of this genre.

The Curse of Perfection!

I was excited to see a second book in the "Head over Heels" series on Audible. This book was tough to listen to initially, because I felt so very sorry for the heroine. It hurt my heart. Kate had such a warped, almost perverse image of herself, and was relying on plastic surgery to make her into an "acceptable" person. Are we as women, so self destructive and dependent on what others think of us? It's truly a sad commentary, if we do. This book could be an eye opener and initiate healing, for any younger or older woman, struggling with her identity. I am a big fan of this author and have all of her books in two formats. I hope she releases "Faking Grace" on Audible, in the near future, then Splitting Harriet " to complete the series. Again, Mary Sarah hit a hit a homerun on the vocal renderings. She is an astounding narrator. Much thanks to Audible and Ms. Leigh for exceptional entertainment.

Good Book

I enjoyed the book, though I did have some issues. I don't know in what world 135lbs is considered not thin? The only other thing is the narrator was great, but unless I miss that Kate grew up in England somewhere, the accent was hard to connect with the San Francisco character. I really enjoyed the storyline and will be listening to the other books in the series.

Great book; narrator doesn’t fit

I read this long ago and was happy to read again. It is a great book with a good moral. The author is great at contemporary romance but the narrator doesn’t match. She might be great on the historical books (I don’t like those) but her accent and inflections don’t fit the characters or place of this story. I am sad this author stopped writing contemporary romance as she is so good at that. Unfortunately, she writes medieval romances and I loathe that time period.
