careful who you pick up from a bar...

Excellent psychodrama thriller.
You just never know how in one night stand will turn out. One night of fun has definitely wound This woman's life marriage you name it. What do you do that I will not take no for an answer, and believes that he is your soulmate and you are meant to be together? Even if you tell him repeatedly no. Before you know it, you come home and he in the kitchen with your husband having a great old time sharing a beer. That is when things start to get very interesting. Some good twist and turns lay ahead.

Watch out for those Bar pick-ups!

I have read some of this author's books in the past and have enjoyed them. I was given this book to read by the author for a nonbiased review. I thought the story line was very good. It was a different spin on picking up Psyco men at a bar. This crazy man went a few steps further with his stalking game. I would have enjoyed the audiobook with a different narrator. She basically just read the book. I realize that we as listeners have different opinions of our narrators and the books they perform, however, a thriller should, in my opinion, be read by someone with some dramatic inflection in their voice.I will purchase another book by this author.

Good Story, Totally Unlikable Characters

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I typically love a good stalking story however the characters often have unrealistic, extremely frustrating reactions to fairly serious situations that makes them straight up unlikable. Marta, the main character, tells her best friend and business partner Carol that Todd, a one night stand, showed up at her house then found her husband at work and Carol's reaction is basically a shrug. Carol tells her she's egotistical to think she's being stalked and I just can't imagine an adult woman saying that to her best friend. She seemed to peddling the old he-only-picks-on-you-because-he-likes-you idea and that's frustrating.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jonnie Jacobs? Why or why not?

I absolutely would be willing to try another book from Jonnie Jacobs because while I didn't love a lot of the characters' reactions, there were many aspects of the book I did enjoy. I think this story itself was entertaining and maybe with more character development I would have loved it.

Loved the book!!

I was given this book for free in return for an unbiased review. The story kept me anxious to see what the sociopath would do next. The narrator was very natural and did a good job.

Teenage blind love.

I think this is titled inappropriately not a clue what it should be though. My question is how did this guy get away with so much? Guess you could say one can buy almost anything given they have enough money. And could anyone get that lucky and find a cabin in the mountains without some kind of address?
All in all the story started out slow but the pace picked of pretty fast.

One Bad Decision and the Ripple Effect of it!

This book is awesome! Kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what next. Very likeable characters (between the authors introduction of each character and the narrators voice bringing them to life). I really enjoyed the different relationships in the book and the issues they each have. Marta has issues with her marriage, her relationship with her daughter and the relationship with her sister. I really enjoy the ripple effect of a decision and how the author brings it full circle.

Great Stalker Story!

I enjoyed listening to this story but boy did the characters annoy me. All of them were clueless and unable to see things for what they were. The mother never listened to her intuition and made excuses for everything and her daughter was a typical teenager. I actually wanted to see the daughter hurt by the experience after awhile because she really thought she knew everything. Everyone except for the villain wanted to give people the benefit of the doubt. The husband was such a weak man too. This book kept my attention despite its flawed characters and maybe because they were so flawed. I actually enjoyed the book despite not liking the characters. I wanted to see the villain pay more for his crimes too. At the same time, I was fully absorbedin the story and will definitely look for more books by Jonnie Jacobs. I also enjoyed the narration by Cindy Piller.
