On June 22, 1941, Nazi Germany launched Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union. In the time since the end of the war, the world has become familiar with the number of deaths sustained by the Soviet Union (also known as the USSR) during the conflict - 20 million. And that’s likely low, given the size of the country, census-taking at the time, and the damage done to the bureaucracy of the country.
Adolf Hitler invaded the Soviet Union with more than three million men. The Soviets had just under that number in the western section of their country to meet them, as well as millions more elsewhere, which was something Hitler did not count on and grossly underestimated.
The struggle between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany was one of the largest and deadliest conflicts of all time - a war of elimination between totalitarian nations led by two of the most ruthless leaders in the history of the world.

Imagine the Pacific War, the theater of World War II that took place in the Pacific. If the Japanese were not busy fighting on another front, they would have had millions of more troops available to fight the Americans and the British. In all likelihood, World War II would have ended the same way, but it would have taken much longer and cost that many more lives.

The complete Barbarossa operation.
This is a very enjoyable story that is extremely difficult to understand since the listener doesn't have the pictures and instances of the original work for this you need any Kindle version.
