Acerca de esta escucha

Someone may be trying to kill an old homeless man on the streets of Cincinnati. Or is he just having some really bad luck?

New City Hospital third year resident Ben Nealy tries to persuade his professors of the former and finally gets attention from Tom Bolling, chief of staff.

Tom is a retired Air Force general whose daily activities involve him in quality of care issues beset by tradition. When he gets involved in Ben's case he draws in an old friend, former Air Force Criminal Investigator Ron Looney to help identify the old man. At that point, the case becomes deeper and more sinister than ever.

To enjoy reading a novel and gain medical practice knowledge at the same time is a gift! In the story line, when medical procedures were performed, I was grateful to have in-depth practice explanations provided by the author. It was also interesting to learn about the inner workings and medical operations of this particular hospital. It provided depth to the overall story line.

I appreciated the conciseness of this particular novel. With the short chapters and tight time line, the novel really moved along and held my interest. G.L. does a fine job differentiating his character's voices and brings the story to life. I also felt that he spent considerable time with character development and I enjoyed the relationships that existed. particularly the one between Tom and his wife, Sandra. I found myself quite attached to "Barry" and genuinely sad at his outcome. Overall, this novel had a very satisfying ending and I look forward to more from G.L. Barbour!
