An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling series.

Detective Tracy Crosswhite draws a long-dormant serial killer out of hiding in a nerve-shattering novel by New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni.

Tracy Crosswhite is reopening the investigation into Seattle’s Route 99 serial killer. After thirteen victims, he stopped hunting and the trail went cold, stirring public outrage. Now, nearly three decades after his first kill, Tracy is expected to finally bring closure to the victims’ families and redeem the Seattle PD’s reputation. Even if it means working with her nemesis, Captain Johnny Nolasco.

Lead detective of the original task force, Nolasco dares Tracy to do what he failed to: close the case. Forming an uneasy alliance, Tracy and Nolasco revisit old leads and pursue new evidence only to unearth high-level corruption and cover-ups as dangerous as the elusive killer himself. At the risk of being exposed, such deadly and powerful forces will go to extremes to stay in the shadows.

That’s just where Tracy and Nolasco are headed—to find the twisted truth behind a killer’s motives, his disappearance, and his chilling comeback.

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Dugoni brilliantly folds murders past and present into his heroine’s earlier cases and her troubled history.”Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

“Though this is the 10th Tracy Crosswhite, newcomers will savor the story, while Dugoni fans will love how he ties up several storylines from earlier novels. Few authors deliver consistently stellar crime fiction, and Dugoni is one of those writers. Michael Connelly fans should have this series on their reading pile.”First Clue Reviews

I received a reminder email that the book was ready and purchased the eBook and audiobook immediately. Robert Dugoni is my favorite author. His books kept me sane during the pandemic in 2020.

I love the Tracy Crosswhite series. Dugoni's books either have me holding on to my chair (The Eighth Sister) or keep me glued to my headset, listening.

This story was about a reopened cold case that involved a serial killer who randomly killed prostitutes and changed to killing women in Middle-Class society. Tracy was forced to work with her former boss (I think former), with both despising each other. As the story progressed, they needed to discover why the killer went from killing prostitutes to women in middle-class neighborhoods. An FBI profiler suggested they focus on what the last four killings of the women in the middle-class neighborhoods had in common. It appears the killer is under their noses and knows how to avoid leaving his DNA behind. Tracey and her partner must discover the link and find the killer before he kills again.

I love the Tracy Crosswhite series. I've listened to all of them. I think Emily Sutton Smith does a great job reading them, I understand some people consider her voice to be boring, but I think she just portrays a calmness, especially with Tracy's voice.
I'm not very far into the story, but I'm already reading it because I can tell that it's just as good as usual. One question though, Tracy just went to see nabil, I'm not sure how his name is spelled, the cowboy killer, and I'm a little confused. I remember in his story, when it portrayed the scene where he killed his own mother. Am I imagining that? Because I remember reading that HE hooked the rope over the bed and around his mother's neck, while the man was sleeping next to her. Am I mistaken? Will this be resolved later in the story? Because it seems now, in prison, that he doesn't realize he killed his mother and I'm positive I read that. I don't know, maybe I'm losing it. lol

Question; Didn't the Cowboy kill his own mother?

I love Tracy Crosswhite. Robert Dugoni never ceases to write amazing stories and this one is no exception. This book was fantastic from beginning to end. It kept me hooked the whole way through and I love to see Tracy and Nalasco’s working relationship develop throughout the story, it made me like Nalasco a little bit more. I will always love Tracy Dan and Daniella and I hope there is another book! Emily Sutton-Smith did wonderful on narration as well.

I hope this series never ends!
