Great Introduction to the Series!

This is the first book in the Billy Jo McCabe Mystery Series. This is a great introduction to the Series. I liked the characters, and the mystery. Billy Jo, a social worker, is smart, and strong. Mark, a detective, is handsome, and enigmatic. I loved to follow their investigation, and I am looking forward to more in the series. Leo Jones did a great job with the narration.

Billie Joe McCabe, a social worker is new to the island. She could have found a position anywhere. She has her own reasons why she chose this place.
Her first case started the day she set foot on the island. She was working on the same case as Mark, a bristley detective.
a 13 year old girl is missing from a summer camp for foster kids. Shay is classified as a runaway. Someone wanted to shut down the case.
Both Billie Joe and Mark seems to think it all doesn't add up. This story is full of mystery, intrigue. Leo Jones narration is very good.

So Intriguing!

This would have been given a full star rating had it been longer. That's the only issue I have with the entire book. It was a really amazing read and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to read it. The longer thing is a personal preference in all honesty. I'm sure there are many readers that absolutely loved the length of the book. There are some heavier topics addressed that I felt could have been leaned on a little more as well. I still recommend it.

Nothing As It Seems (Billy Jo McCabe Mystery #1) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Billy-Jo never thought she would become a social worker especially since the broken system almost destroyed her. She takes a job on a remote Pacific Northwest island and gets a call about a young girl who went missing from a wilderness camp. Mark Friessen is a Roche Harbor detective who was called to investigate the disappearance. They both end up butting heads and clashing at every turn. But they have to them up in order to find out what happened to the missing girl. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Is a great story that hooks you from the start and doesn’t let go until the very end.

Unbelievable

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. A social worker and a cop, a strange couple. Perhaps together they will find the missing person. Loved the Narrator’s way of telling the story.

Wonderful mystery and narrative by Leo Jones can't wait to listen to the next book I really like Mrs. Eckhart's books
