We believe that free will is what separates thinking humanity from instinct-driven animals. For most of history, humans have either taken freewill for granted or sung its praises. Hreat food for thought

This is a very reductionist approach to the thought process of determinism and free will. The author tries to bring everything together at the end, but I'm not sure that that's even possible.
