Dean Lorey writes a good, fast-paced story that's easy enough for children to follow, but witty enough for parents to enjoy. This is the kind of book which teaches children simple, powerful lessons that will stick with them long after they forget the story, while giving parents a chance to bond with their children.

Oliver Wyman is a fantastic narrator. He animates the characters of 'Nightmare Academy' so they are easy to recognize and remember.

If you like books like 'Harry Potter', 'Charlie Bone', or 'How to Train Your Dragon', or enjoy simple stories to read with your children, this book is for you.

My kids and I listen to this on the way to and from school everyday, until it was over. They loved it. It was a bit anticlimatic but fun.

Good story

I really enjoyed the story, but honestly the voice actor/reader was not good at making voices for characters. Charlie’s voice made him sound like he was six, and Brooks voice was so distracting I could pay attention to the story.

Brought me back to my childhood.

I first read this book when I was in 10th grade. The moment I started, people would have to bang on the table to get my attention away from it. I wanted to get back into this series and Oliver Wyman’s voice was perfectly charming! Rex specifically sounded exactly how I imagined he would! I sent this to all of my friends in hopes that they’d listen to it! I hope the other books in the series are also read by him when they get uploaded.
