This was a fun read, lots of steamy romance.

What did you love best about Next to Me?

I loved the ending. And the romance between Sam and Ali. I thought I had the ending figured out, but there were some twists that I hadn't expected and I really enjoyed that.

What did you like best about this story?

I love Sarah's voice. Between the author's descriptive language for the characters and Sarah giving voice to them, I felt I was part of the story.

Have you listened to any of Sarah Pavelec’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I always look for anything new Sarah has on audible. Sarah's narration for Next to Me doesn't disappoint. She reads with such emotion and as always brings the characters to life for me. Loved it!

Any additional comments?

I access my audible books in the car. When I was listening to Next to Me, I couldn't wait to go driving again, so the story could continue!

CREDITWORTHY..... BUT ONLY JUST

I had a hard time with this listen.... purely because fear-filled Ali sets out to deliberately and ruthlessly ensnare her handsome neighbor Sam who is totally unaware, unsuspecting and is happy to have found Ali.... clueless that he is being used, lied to and played. Because Ali has investigated him thoroughly and he's just what she's looking for.... a hunky fearless protector who isn't afraid of a bit of violence. There is also instant chemistry which I thought was weak and I just didn't feel it, same night sex followed by more sex (no problems there) but a too quick to develop love as they really knew nothing about each other.

I loved Sam, an ex Army Sniper he is now the sexy owner of Scorpio a Security Company whose members are Bodyguards and everything to do with personal security and they have some fun banter and there's a real sense of a tight bond between them all. And Sam is blissfully unaware and thinks he's in Heaven with the way he, and his beautiful neighbor, have clicked together but he is starting to realize that the sharing of personal information is only going one way. Then, after a hot sexy night, he turns his back, takes a phone call and, when he turns back around, suddenly his world implodes and everything changes.... but more heartache and pain is yet to come when Ali's secrets, history and husband comes to light.

I realize why Ali did what she did but I just didn't like it and feel that she could've come clean with him earlier because he deserved to hear the truth.... but unfortunately that's not how the book played out because I realize there has to be the suspense and 'shock' factor. There was angst, drama, danger, suspense and bloodshed when the ex husband arrived on the scene which made this listen more exciting..... and eventually more romantic too.

Dual POV and ok narration but I didn't really like her male voices very much.

Worth a credit? I don't know whether it's because I've just come from a previous book 'high' but this, IMO, is a bit forgettable with no real depth - only just creditworthy or maybe better as a sale purchase.
