What made the experience of listening to Barefoot with a Bodyguard the most enjoyable?

The mystery and adventure along with the romance keeps one not wanting to pause it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Barefoot with a Bodyguard?

Can't pick one as there were a lot of moments that stick in my mind. The couples massage was one.

Have you listened to any of Kaleo Griffith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No had not listened to Kalio Griffith before...liked it very much but at times was a little 'campy' sounding.

Any additional comments?

For those that have not read or listened to any of Roxanne St. Clair's books, they should. Love her Barefoot series.

Amazing story

Would you listen to Barefoot with a Bodyguard again? Why?

I loved this story and would listen to it over and over again

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course Gabe Rossi is my most favorite character in the series, however I quickly fell in love with both Alec and Kate. They are both such strong individuals and I loved how different they were yet totally worked for me as a couple. I especially loved how protective they both were of one another.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved Kate trying to guess Alec's real name. They had serious chemistry but some of their sweeter times together were my absolute favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I both laughed and cried while reading this story. Roxanne St. Claire pulls all the emotions from me when reading or listening to her books.

Awful heroine, couldn't finish 😝

Couldve been a great story, good premise and likeable characters. With the exception of Kate/Tilly who, despite extenuating past circumstances, was just to stupid /arrogant to save. Good narrator but still couldn't finish.

A totally awesome audio book!

Roxanne St. Claire's first Barefoot Bay series was awesome, but she has added suspense and mystery to this first Barefoot Bay Undercover book that just adds to the greatness.
Alec, an MMA trainer, is sent to Barefoot Bay to hide from the Russian mafia that is after him, but also to be a bodyguard to Kate. Kate is the daughter of a judge who has been getting mail threatening Kate. Kate is fresh from a divorce that really did a number on her. She doesn't want anything to do with having a bodyguard, especially one posing as the husband that she's supposedly on her honeymoon with.
While Kate has her issues with marriage and men, Alec deals with feeling totally unworthy of love (especially Kate's love).They must deal with those issues, the feelings that develop between them and the danger that surrounds them both. All in all, a totally awesome and satisfying read!
I'll be honest and say I read this book before I dove into the audio. The performance by Kaleo Griffith was nothing short of amazing! Not only were the voices excellent for the male vs. female characters, but there were numerous accents that he performed superbly. I'm definitely looking for more of his work.

What did you love best about Barefoot with a Bodyguard?

The way the story is written, the setting of the story, the suspense of who the bad guy is and when he will strike and the performance of the narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Barefoot with a Bodyguard?

When Alec was telling Kate about his history. He was such broken, hurting man who saw absolutely no value in himself as a man. Kate very gently in such a perfect way got through to him at who he really was and how much he meant to her.

What about Kaleo Griffith’s performance did you like?

This narrator did a really good performance with each character, changed voice tone each time very well in that I was able to keep up with each character in the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried several times because of the pain Alec was going through and had been through in his life. He just felt so unworthy of anyone's love! The tears of pure joy flowed as these two finally realized when was most important in life. Beautiful!!!!

Any additional comments?

This author does such and amazing job with romance stories as well as adding a bit of suspense in keeping the reader on our toes trying to figure out who the bad guy is and when "the moment" will happen! I love all of Roxanne St Clair's books!

What made the experience of listening to Barefoot with a Bodyguard the most enjoyable?

Barefoot With a Bodyguard is fast paced full of dangerous adventure and edge of your seat suspense. I've read the novel but Mr. Griffith's delivery added another layer and helped the story come alive.

What did you like best about this story?

Time just flew by. Like watching a movie, I could picture the scenes and character portrayals in my head.

What about Kaleo Griffith’s performance did you like?

Was somewhat surprised with that first listen. The male voice narration was spot on. It's only fair that listeners get to experience the story through the eyes of the male lead. Set's the tone and kept me on my toes.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The first meeting between Alec and Kate was always a dramatic moment but add in the narrative and it becomes more powerful. I could feel the electric currents through my earphones.

Roxanne St. Claire/Barefoot Undercover Fan

As headlined, I'm a big Rocki St. Claire fan and when I got the chance to grab this book in audio, I couldn't resist. I'm always a little leery about audio versions of romance novels, though. Who does it better? A male narrator or a female? I think it depends on the book and the narrator. In this case, Kaleo Griffith did a great job with the male characters and the couple of accents needed for correct characterizations and I wasn't disappointed in his narrative take on the heroine. This is a book with strong male characters--not only the hero but the secondary characters as well. And the heroine is sarcastic and brash so in this case, the Mr. Griffith's narration worked to perfection. I loved this book in "written" format and now I get to enjoy it "on the run" with the audio.

great story

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Listening to Kate and Alec's story made my work day fly by. I loved their story. 2 strangers who are forced together due to circumstances in their lives made for a great story. They are 2 totally different people from beyond different backgrounds. Listening to them muddle through their situation was absolutely fun. I enjoyed the narrator of this audiobook.

Opposites Attract!

What made the experience of listening to Barefoot with a Bodyguard the most enjoyable?

Alex! I loved the character of Alex. He's this big strapping guy and tough as nails but he's still very vulnerable. He's damaged emotionally and has to hide it try to deal with that while protecting Kate who grew up very differently from him.

What other book might you compare Barefoot with a Bodyguard to and why?

I'm a fan of Roxanne St Claire's previous romantic suspense books and Gabe is a part of some of those so any of those books would compare even though these have a more contemporary feel to them.

Have you listened to any of Kaleo Griffith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I liked Kaleo Griffith other narration of Roxanne St Claire's work. He does a awesome job with the male voices but the female voices don't always ring true for me. Overall the narration is good though.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Fake names and histories can't stop love from finding their hearts.

Love this book

What can't Roxanne St. Clair write. I loved her Bullett series, have loved all the Barefoot bay stories and this one is no different. I actually read and listened to this book as Roxanne is putting some of her books on Audible now. Enjoyable storyline of a new Bodyguard service operating out of the Barefoot Bay resort, and featuring A Bullett Catchers hero. Think this a great series to listen to as well as read.
