Very Enjoyable

I loved the characters and story overall and the narration was great!

My only critisism was that I think there was way too much repetition in the build ups before each trial, repeating "the same stakes" too much.

I love the Morrigan character, real with a snarky edge and emotion to her.

A lot of very fun imaginative scenes in here and the voices for the bitchy girls was spot on.

I was happy to listen to a story where the protagonist is an 11-year-old girl who has some real depth and a sense of herself. I love it that her best friend is a boy.

This is a great listen. Worth the credit.

Fantastic reading and listening fun!

I saw this book in Walmart, thought it looked interesting, and bought the recording on Audible. What an incredible find! It is the sort of book that makes you think in an engaging and powerful way that makes the book fun but leaves you with the feeling that it was worth listening to at the same time. I eagerly anticipate the sequel and plan to have my little ones listen to it next. I can’t wait to hear it again along with them! One of the best books I have listened to in the past few years!

A fun and interesting story

Such a fun listen. It’s a great story and the narrator did a wonderful job. I really do recommend it for people who love Harry Potter and for kids and adults alike.

The other reviews were right, I couldn't stop listening! Super fun light hearted story to listen to. Whimsical, a bit of mystery, great characters, great narrator I loved this book. I plan on putting this on in the car with the kids too, 12, 14, and 16! Such a good book to listen to, so glad I got this one!

Delightful Story and Outstanding Narration

Gemma Whelan really nailed the many accents in this little fantasy, the first of a series (2 so far). Her pacing was excellent, too, and each voice was unique (even for non-humans). It's a fun story of a misfit 11-year-old in an alternate England who has to prove herself. Great for all ages tween and over. I will absolutely be continuing this series.

Excellent story in a magical world!

What an amazing ride this book provides! Townsend reels you in right away with a compelling and cursed heroine. The story rapidly gains speed as a roller coaster of events unfolds. Readers will be turning pages and listeners will be listening late into the night to find out how it ends! The fabulous vocal performance of the audio book enhances the enjoyment!

Love this book

I first read this on my kindle! Then I got the audio and anytime I need a good read I just listen to it and relax.

Interesting story, likeable characters

Great young adult book, for anyone of any age who read and loved Harry Potter, I think you will love this also. Wonderfully narrated. One unresolved strand at the end, so you know there is a sequel.

An Exciting New Series for Fantasy Fans

Nevermore is a world populated by engaging characters, with unique interactions. The magical elements are truly fantastic and follow the logic laid out by the world without ever breaking one of it's own rules. I was intrigued by the story and couldn't stop listening.

As for the narrator, Gemma Whelan has a great voice, with each character having their own sound. A marvelous performance!

Very good read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I'm a lover of YA literature and this one does not disappoint. If you are a fan of Harry Potter or fantasy fiction ala Neil Gaiman then you will love this book. The story is magical and you will feel such love for Morrigan and Jupiter. I especially loved the narration - such great character development! I could picture it all in my mind. I was captivated until the end (which came too fast).
