I flirted with a dragon shifter at a wedding, and it accidentally started a magical, miserable mating process between us.

It's technically my fault, but we're not focusing on that.

Now, we have to figure out how to fight the magic pushing us together.

Or… we have to embrace the bond.

But neither of us knows a thing about relationships, so the odds of success?

They're not looking great for us.

I have to figure out what to do about the bond—and fast. Because the more time passes, the worse my pain is going to get…and the less control Jasper will have over his beastly side.

This is a fun, steamy full-length standalone romance with a happily ever after!

Went right into book 2 of this trilogy because I knew the bestie was next but wasn't sure which one haha. We get the uber frosty Jasper and levelheaded Miranda who just goes over to get away from her sister and her future mate arguing over food hahaha. I like how that happens and he just gets up and takes her. Like the dragon aspect and how more out of control he was than Eli.

This was more like a 3.5-4 stars for me, not as solid for me than book 1 with Elodie and Eli. I think there was so lulls in this one and it wasn't as engaging as the other books by this author. I think the back and forth was good but because of how the author portrayed Jas and the delivery just wasn't as solid for me, I didnt like it as much. It was still good but it wasn't as funny as the other series and the plot wasn't as exciting.

I will say getting to see Mate Mountain was fabulous and getting that aspect of the dragon world was good but you totally lost the momentum with the Thunder and the subplot with the politics. We didnt get another story that Jasper had to handle as the leader, we really didnt see any of that side of this life so we didnt get to become as invested in him as a character, he fell more flat. We get to see Miranda's life, learn of her family more and the dynamics there. You got to know her and so you could connect with her more. Wish the author took more time to give that to us for Jasper. This could have been just as good or as better than book 1 but that was the big miss for me.

Steam sometimes felt off here I think because of how the characters (mostly miranda) felt about the mate bond and just getting it over with. I did swoon when Jasper confirmed how much he was watching her and wanting her before all this happened. That to me was the best part, and how he stood up for her in front of her parents and others. Narration was solid again, 4 stars for them. They highlighted Miranda's frustration well with Jas and his inner turmoil with all the clenching and stuff haha. I liked how she waited for him to make first moves/asks and then once he talked to her twin he started making more decisions for her. OH and her art was fabulous and her job but we didnt get more of that, like telling us about a book she did, art she sold, like there was a nice detail to give us hungry readers and another miss.

Still good story, very grumpy MMC haha

Not sure if this is important, but Book 1 showed the numbers of the chapters and the name of the character who was talking.
Books 2 and 3 of the series, only showed the character numbers.
