Sometimes funny, often sardonic, with shifting perspectives and unpunctuated dialogue, Nearly Dead in North Dakota is a fast and loose journey through history, science, religion, pop culture, and a closer examination of the kind of world we live in but never get enough time to really think about.
It gets better every time you listen to it, and it’s the kind of book you have to buy over and over again, because you keep lending it out to people and then feel awkward about asking for it back. That’s totally okay and not a personality flaw at all.

Unexpected ending
Loved listening to this story a man’s road trip with his son, knowing he only had a few weeks to live. I love the surprise ending, had trouble sticking with it because of the raspy way the narrator performed.

Wholesome and Hilarious
First of all, I love every minute of this audiobook and the author’s performance. The interactions were so organic and authentic. The genuine love and care that is portrayed between the characters is a beautiful encapsulation of this mans life. Best of all though, it’s hilarious. Super funny! I always try to listen to audiobooks before bed to wind down and I would find my self laughing out loud and staying awake to listen. Listen to this book! You won’t be disappointed.

I need an actual ending!
The story of this book is fantastic! I have to admit that I got a little bored of the lessons taught, definitions, examples.. The narrator has a fantastic voice!
The only thing I was disappointed in was the very end. I need to know what happened.

finite time
It was interesting to listen to this man's thought process knowing he had an expiration date staring him in the face. I enjoyed his conversations with his wife- snark and sweet. The ending made me cry. I enjoyed this mental journey. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Nearly dead but full of live
Loved this book and the author/narrator. He did a wonderful job. Great story about a man facing his death and trying to make memories with his son one last time. His interaction with his wife was beautiful and funny Highly recommend!

I Personally could not get into this Book
I do Not care for having other people push their religious beliefs at me. I could Not even get more than a couple of chapters into this book.
