Acerca de esta escucha

Lauren is up for the opportunity of a life-time, to be the lead producer for a new reality show set in Nantucket. Nantucket Influence will follow a group of young influencers as they spend the summer at a gorgeous waterfront home. It is a concept that Lauren has worked on successfully before and the job is hers—as long as she doesn’t mind that one of the influencers is Billy—the ex that she caught cheating on her. Does she really want to spend the summer working with him every day? This is her first chance to run a show, though, and she can’t pass it up.

Hudson, runs a Nantucket based production company, with famous actress and new Nantucket resident, Cami Carmichael. Hudson is good friends with Billy, but Lauren finds herself drawn to him. But she knows they shouldn't be more than friends since they are working together—and since Lauren will be heading back to LA when filming ends.

Meanwhile Angela is thrilled to see her college friend Lauren and has some exciting news to share. And Lisa discovers that her nemesis, Violet, who runs a competing inn is ready to declare herself as the top lobster quiche maker on the island. But not if Lisa has anything to say about it—she signs up for the local food festival as well and will let the people decide who makes the best quiche.

Lo que los oyentes dicen sobre Nantucket Summer House

Con calificación alta para:

The Audiobook Appears To Be Part Of A Series Featuring Recurring Characters And Their Lives In A Small Town Setting. While Previous Books Were Enjoyed For Their Feel-good Stories And Established Character Foundations, This Particular Installment Is Criticized For Having A Thin Plot, Inconsistencies In Character Details, And An Overall Disappointing Story, Especially Given The Promising Premise Of A Reality Show Production. However, Some Reviewers Still Found The Tale Heartwarming Despite Its Flaws.

The narrators voice was beyond annoying!

I love this series….but the narrator needs to go!! It was like she was whining or drunk for the entire book! Very hard to get into it because of that.

So so / Ho hum

I’ve read/ listened to all nine books and while I like the first 8 this book not so much! Which was disappointing.

I liked them because they are ‘feel good reads’ and each book builds a foundation of characters that is incorporated in the following books. But right off the bat a name of one character changes from Phillipe to Andre! You would think that’s not a big deal but for some reason it just feels off and that’s the feeling I had about the whole story. I waited a while for this book and was disappointed.

Changes - waiting for the other shoe to drop

With the premise of the “reality show” I was waiting for all the drama…….there was none until the end. Lauren story was cute and heartwarming. Lisa will she ever shake Violet?

Sorry to say this, but the narration was a bit annoying.

I really enjoyed the whole Beach Plum Cove series, but what bothered me the most was that Phillipe, Angela’s husband, was called Pierre. Did I miss something along the way? I think that was the biggest disappointment. He was named Phillipe throughout the whole series until this book. All the other characters remained the same.

Realty snore

A story around the production of a reality show sounded exciting, so imagine my surprise that the reality was a snooze. No crazy drama, or fights. Just vanilla let’s be friends, everyone friendly Even the revelation of Sammy and Billy!!! Was a snooze. Only a polite announcement at dinner that everyone knew! Nothing !!!! There were so many missed opportunities such as Lisa’s lobster quiche!!!! And the food fare! Ok Lisa won but the missed opportunity of Lisa and her rival both making Lobster Quiches,, maybe Lisa’s rival could win! only for Lisa to discover her Rival purchased her Quiches and passed them off as her own! Cute predictable story, would I recommend… maybe to my bible study group.

Lets keep the names and character stories the same!

Its very weird and annoying that the character "phillipe gaston" is now pierre. And his French accent in book is worse than the other books versions which is weird. How do you write this many books in the same series with the same characters and not get their names correct? And how does the editor miss that!?
Tylers character is a recovering alcoholic in the previous books but in this one he orders an IPA at the club car... ? What's up with that? The guy had to go to rehab twice- and now he's social drinking?

inconsistent pronunciation

Being from New England I am familiar with the names of places onthe Cape and sugar areas and I found that some names were pronounced one way then differently in different parts of the story. What was also annoying was that Angela's husband went from being Philipe to Pierre...

Good but…

I have liked most of the author’s books in this series. This one is a bit different. One of her long time characters gets renamed from Filipe to Pierre. She continues with the renamed owner of the other B&B who started out as Lillian but then became Violet. The story doesn’t flow well and the plot is a bit thin. The narrator who has done the previous two books I believe is not great. She doesn’t do voices well and in this novel she attempts a French accent for the newly renamed Pierre but winds up with a Russian/German version that is awful! She mispronounced most of the foreign terms in the previous books and this one too. This author apparently believes there are mostly baby blue jeeps and baby blue mini coopers to drive as that is what most of her characters drive. The women ALL like Cinnamon tea, drink Chardonnay or Cab, and love seafood. There are so many repeats of food and drink it tends to get boring after reading the series. The books are okay but by this one I decided I would find another author.

The use of the word “as”

This story was a disappointment yawn fest. I kept waiting for something exciting but it was like oatmeal…it tastes okay so you eat it…but it just wasn’t that good.
