Resumen del Editor

Murder on Elbrus begins with world famous mountaineer Scott Devlon scarcely recovered from the disaster told in Murder on Everest, when he is sent to observe an EU sponsored conference in southern Russia. This casual assignment turns deadly with the murder of a Russian official atop Europe's highest mountain. Joined by the beautiful Natasha, the most powerful woman in the media world, Scott must run for his life, uncertain of her loyalties and true motives. Joined by a tread worn CIA agent, a Russian mobster and Georgian nationalist, they flee across war torn Chechnya with the Russian army in hot pursuit. Along the way ethnic vendettas play out while old secrets are revealed. Scott can't know where his greater enemy lies: with him or on the fields of fire. Set against the bleak terrain of the north Caucasus this action packed thriller unfolds at a breakneck pace. The Summit Murder Mystery Series is a unique set of novels. Join authors Charles G. Irion and Ronald J. Watkins for this extraordinary journey of exciting exploits and murder atop each of the seven major continental summits, beginning with Murder on Everest.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Going up against the Russian army is easy. It's his allies that seem to be the real problem. Murder on Elbrus tells the tale of Scott Devlon as he becomes entrenched in the murder of a high ranking Russian official on a mountain in Europe. With the Russian army on his tail, Scott is forced to battle the media, the Russian mob, and plenty of people with their own agendas, leaving him with little to trust and an ever growing pile of problems. Murder on Elbrus is a fascinating and fast paced read, highly recommended." ( Midwest Book Review)

Loved this murder mystery!

Would you listen to Murder on Elbrus again? Why?

Yes, definitely. The book kept my attention and the narrator kept me on the edge of my seat during the exciting, drama-driven moments!

What about Greg Lutz’s performance did you like?

Nice voice, clear diction, good emphasis on the exciting parts.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

I am very happy to say that Murder on Elbrus lives up to my hopes after reading Murder on Everest. Once again the authors don't disappoint, writing a novel full of non-stop action and climbing excitement. This time around, hero Scott Devlon is running for his life after he becomes entangled in the murder of a Russian official. Oh, and did I mention that he has the Russian Army on his tail?! Kick back, relax, and get lost listening to Murder on Elbrus!

Story almost ruined by poor and incorrect pronunciation of several words.

Just as with Everest the story captivated my climber’s imagination. The experience was dampened by so many mispronounced words and names. Caucasus was pronounced koo-caucus. Ubiquitous was pronounced ubiquious which is not a word. Vehemently was pronounced venemently, again not a word. There are many other examples by the most “ubiquitous” was the outrageous mispronunciation of Pyotr. Pyotr is Peter in Russian and pronounced pee-OH-ter NOT pie-oh-tra. Narrating is more than being able to affect an accent...
