A worthy installment of the series

The author has steadily built on the characters from installment to installment. This is no different. The central characters get themselves embroiled in another murder to solve. This one has a more complicated and intricate plot and I throughly enjoyed it. Narration brings it alive and is well done. If you like the series, you should like this installment.

Another hit!

Always smart and fun mystery solving! Great cast of characters, all very likable. I always look forward to another installment.

Plain old fun.

I love all of these characters and always hate for the book to end. One thing the author does well is character development. All of the recurring characters are individuals. With flaws and strengths. Can’t wait for the next one.

Interesting historical elements

Good pacing and twists, plus romance. I'm not keen on the reliance on aphorisms and repetitive verbal figures. Quite good enough for a relaxing listen!

Well written

I really enjoy this series. The characters are all fully fleshed and mostly believable. This book in particular had moments of real tension. That isn't always good when you are driving! The plots are intricate but not outlandish. I enjoy the narration too. Mr Stewart does an excellent dowager countess!

Excellent

I love everything about this series: the shadowy mystery, the slow burn attraction of the two main characters, the weasely children and now a ham loving dog. The mix fits together like a well-oiled machine with lots of cogs! I look forward to the next book in the series.

Loved this series and the struggle of the English with their soft emotions to be expressed through the rigors of protocol!!

Great plot in each book ! Characters developed so you can get to know them! And brilliantly British!!!

Another Great Story

This series is most addictive! So much so that when one book has finished, I am unable to take a break after the book ends. Oh no. I must go on to the next one. Author Penrose has built fascinating characters and misdeeds around thinkers of science and engineers and their creations. As for other readers of a curious nature, such explanations provided are much appreciated as many may not fully grasp the intent of the instrument.

Great Series!

Entertaining listen and interesting ties to history. Adventure with a little bit of romance. Looking forward to the final installment.

Research

The amount of research and coordination involved in the story line seems tremendous.I have enjoyed all of the stories written so far and look forward to the next. The narrator brings the story to life ; I cannot imagine any other person able to read them so well. Thank you so much Andrea Penrose and James Cameron Stewart.
