Resumen del Editor

From USA Today best-selling author Leslie Langtry comes the latest laugh-out-loud Merry Wrath Mystery.

Merry Wrath has seen dangers galore in her former job as a CIA field agent. But nothing has prepared her for this - an overnight Mommy and Me lock-in with her Girl Scout troop, complete with movies, dodgeball, four cats, a baby, and a dead body. When the mysterious corpse's identity is revealed, Merry and her former handler, Riley, realize they might have a domestic terrorist situation on their hands; one that needs to be diffused quickly before any more dead bodies appear. Merry once again calls on her former professional skills to track down a killer. Between a new hottie female medical examiner - who seems a bit too interested in Merry's boyfriend, Rex - the demanding President of the United States, the world's second largest snail collection, and an incident with pink hair dye, Merry has her work cut out for her. Can she stop an attack before it begins? Or will this be one movie night without a happy ending?

Lots of Chuckles

Delightful who-dun-it with entertaining characters and a great plot. I can't wait for the next book.

Lockdown

Merry and her scout troop are sharing a movie night lock in at the church with their mothers. After waking up with pink bangs and a pink cat she finds a dead body. It’s the impostor from the DC trip. Then the body disappears and there’s another body. With the President visiting a neighboring town the pressure is on.

A terrific murder mystery with lots of laughs

Leslie Langtry writes another successful book in her fourth Merry Wrath Murder Mystery, Movie Night Murder. Merry is horrified to learn that girl scout sleepovers don’t actually involve any sleep, so she wakes up with bright pink bangs and a pink mama cat. Her lifelong best friend and joint troop leader, Kelly, is really angry with Merry. But how was Merry to have known in the previous book, Marshmallow S’more Murder, that the woman who volunteered to join them as a chaperone in Washington, D.C. was a stranger? But then at the height of Kelly’s anger, Merry opens the door, only to have the woman who tagged along with them fall dead right on top of her.

This leads to all sorts of excitement, drama, and humor. A missing body leads to the search for the newly found woman who has disappeared again. Then there is the hunt for a terrorist and the need to figure out the source. Riley, Merry’s ex-CIA partner, gets sent to deal with the situation and gets so enamored with the new medical examiner that he offers two of Merry’s kittens to her. Life is a wild adventure.

This book made me laugh all the more than the previous three books. I thought the plot was creative and well-done. But the best part about these books is the amazing cast of characters. The girl scouts are a lot of fun, with their excitement over searching out terrorists and their crazy enthusiasm at the lock-in.

Bailey Carr reads the audio edition of the book. I personally found her narration to be enjoyable. I like the voices she uses and think she does a good job overall of performing this book. However, my mom actually quit listening to the first book, Merit Badge Murder, because she was annoyed by the narration.

I just loved this book and thought Movie Night Murder to be a great book. All the book stems clearly from the overnight lock-in, even the potential threat to the President of the United States. It made me laugh out loud and enjoy the creative plot. I give the book five stars!

Book 4 in the awesome Merry Wrath series by Leslie Langtry

Movie Night Murder is an exciting, humorous cozy mystery featuring Merry Wrath, a retired CIA Agent who is now a Girl Scout Leader. Merry is dating Detective Rex Ferguson and her Dad is a Senator. Her best friend is Kelly and her former boss is Riley. A mysterious corpse shows up at a Girl Scout Lock-in except Merry knows who she is. Merry and Riley suspect she was working for a domestic terrorist group. There is a new coroner, Miss Body who is distracting Rex and Riley and Merry is not happy. It is funny but is a little over done. This is an exciting cozy mystery and the audiobook is very well done! #MovieNightMurder #MerryWrathMysteries

Very busy cozy mystery, good performance

Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, but this addition to the series seemed to have a lot of filler that kind of got on my nerves. It was written in the same way as the others, but it just was too "busy" for me. I do like the characters and cats. Performance was good.
