Resumen del Editor

USA Today and international best-selling author Jennifer Robson takes listeners to 1920s Paris in an enthralling new historical novel that tells the riveting story of an English lady who trades in her staid aristocratic life for the mesmerizing salons and the heady world of the Lost Generation.

It's the spring of 1924, and Lady Helena Montagu-Douglas-Parr has just arrived in France. On the mend after a near-fatal illness, she is ready to embrace the restless, heady allure of the City of Lights. Her parents have given her one year to live with her eccentric aunt in Paris, and Helena means to make the most of her time. She's quickly drawn into the world of the Lost Generation and its circle of American expatriates, and, with their encouragement, she finds the courage to pursue her dream of becoming an artist.

One of those expats is Sam Howard, a journalist working for the Chicago Tribune. Irascible, plainspoken, and scarred by his experiences during the war, Sam is simply the most fascinating man she has ever met. He's also entirely unsuitable.

As Paris is born anew, rising phoenixlike from the ashes of the Great War, Helena realizes that she, too, is changing. The good girl she once was, so dutiful and obedient, so aware of her place in the world, is gone forever. Yet now that she has shed her old self, who will she become, and where and with whom does she belong...?

Seemed rushed and shallow

While I enjoyed the story line, I felt it was rushed and could've stood more details of the daily life life in Paris and in the art classes.

Another winner for Robson

I am an unabashed Jennifer Robson fan. The detail, descriptions, and prose of her books are meticulous. I loved this story but not to extent I did the first two books. It's hard to put a finger on what exactly was lacking in this but it was still wonderful.

The characters were well-written and vibrant. I want to ride Le Train Bleu and visit the bistros of Paris and spend time in the studio. The word pictures Robson creates are brilliant.

I'm already anxious for her next book.

Worth the read and a listen

Robson's "Moonlight Over Paris" did what a good book should - bring you into the story and make you care about the characters. Jane Copland was excellent as the narrator. As we all know, the narration can make or break an audible book. In this case, it was a well-made match. If there are significant flaws in the story or narration, they got by me...and I'm an editor. I won't go into the story so much, that's for the next reader, but this period (the Lost Generation era of Paris) is a compelling time and I was concerned before listening that the book might somehow detract from such an interesting place and time, that the characters might not do it justice. Quite the opposite happened here. Robson was careful and got it right.

Thank you Jennifer Robson and Jane Copland. Do it again, please.

A pleasant trip to 1924 Paris

Sometimes it's nice to read a pleasant romance, nothing too exciting or complicated, with the expected happy ending. Adequate writing, and excellent narration. The star of this book is the atmospheric and romantic setting of 1924 Paris.

Boring

Generic boring really did not feel like you were in Paris or anywhere else interesting.
