Resumen del Editor

Mattie Crockwell spends her evenings with the man of her dreams, Lord Ashton of Sinclair House. That he is a character in her historical Georgian romance novel is her little secret. She's read the same out-of-print book every night for months, anticipating the moment when she settles in for sleep and dreams of the passionate embrace of Lord Ashton. But sleep eludes her one night, and she can't find her way to her dreams and Lord Ashton. A full moon compels her to wish...for a real live man like Lord Ashton.

William Sinclair of Ashton House, escapes from one of his mother's interminable matchmaking dinners one night and steps into the garden to wish on the moon for he knows not what. A woman who can love him and not his fortune?

Mattie and William have no idea that wishing on the moon at the same time for the same thing has consequences, but they soon discover that a full moon will grant them their heart's desire when Mattie finds herself with the man of her dreams...in 1825. Can Mattie survive life in the Georgian era? If not, can William bear to let her return to her own time?

A Sweet & Captivating Romance

This is a fast pace, sweet time travel romance.
This story is appropriate for young adults too.
I thought the story had beautiful imagery, well developed characters and secondary characters. I really enjoyed the leading characters and following along as they fell in love. I highly recommend this story. There aren’t any steamy or sexual scenes.
This is a pure, sweet, clean romance.

light and entertaining

This was a cute and entertaining story. If you are looking for something riveting this is not it. It is however, a light easy read, with excellent narration.

Romantic girl lost in the 19th century

Mattie Crockwell is obsessed with a book set in the Georgian era and its main character, Lord Ashton of Sinclair House. She has been reading the book again and again for several months and dreaming of Lord Ashton8. One night, wishing on the moon, she is transported to 1825, and meets the man of her dreams, but the practicalities of the 19th century are much different than what she expected.

I normally do not read romances but having this one part of time-travel, and as I have enjoyed other books by Bess McBride, I wanted to give it a try. This was a light and entertaining listen, and visiting the 19th century has been kind of a novelty.

I had troubles to relate to the characters, as they were not very developed. We just know that Mattie is a romantic, and that William is a noble and fair man, but apart from having a different mindset than the typical of the era, I fail to see what William saw in Mattie. I also do not know what she saw in him apart from his good looks and what she read in a romantic novel. I think this story would work quite right if you are into this genre, but if you need something else to keep you going, you may find something missing here. There was no action or tension at any moment, apart from the times that Mattie had to fabricate a story to avoid questions from visitors. It could have been the general tone, imitating the 19th century style, but somehow the story felt a bit flat.

There were some slight comical moments on which Mattie is quite lost regarding the 19th century costumes, which I found strange, as she should have been familiar with the culture thanks to reading books set on this era.

There are constant POV changes, having one paragraph from Mattie’s POV and maybe the next from William’s, which were confusing at times.

I think Jane McLaughlin’s narration was quite good, not only using subtle different voices and styles for all the characters, but also doing a great job at juggling accents. The audio production was spotless.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

WHAT WOULD YOU GIVE UP FOR LOVE?

If you're in the mood for a sweet easy-going time travel romance that has a few kisses, nice characters, a plot twist and a HEA then look no further 'cause here is your book.

This is one of those 50/50 types of listens - the ones that you mostly like the storyline apart from a few 'hang-ups' with it like it could have been more romantic, sexy, tender, fun and if Mattie (heroine) loved William (hero) sooo much then why was she always talking about going back 'cause she missed all the modern technologies. Could easily have been VYA. Slow narrator so I doubled her up (speed wise of course!).

Worth a credit? It's one that yes it entertained me for a while, but I could easily have lived without ever hearing it - so it's sadly a No from me.

I would love if there was a sequel to it, here's to hoping. I know this is short review but you'll thank me for giving it a try.

Romance In Time

The story is very romantic. Also about time travel, all involving the moon. I know, sounds crazy. But that's what makes this story so different. Imagine being dropped in a Jane Austin novel and without the 21st century modern conveniences. It's real eye opener. It's also a real tear jerker. And in some parts very funny. This is definitely worth a credit.

A sweet story aided by a most enjoyable narration

Would you listen to Moonlight Wishes in Time again? Why?

More a sweet fantasy than a story of the paranormal or science fiction, I liked the characters and wanted to stay with the story to see what became of them. I didn't have as much trouble absorbing the time travel aspect as I did the good and kindly gentleman of 1825 England who accepted it so easily and completely, almost as quickly as it was told to him. But whenever my mind felt events had turned too much toward the unbelievable, the narrator brought me right back with clear and distinct voices that set my disbelief aside and put me into a realm--and a romance--of what seemed like real people.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending pleasantly tied up all the loose ends and left me with a feeling of satisfaction. Overall, I definitely liked it. At the finish, I felt like the storyline when combined with an excellent narration had left me with a sense of light fun, a slightly different slant on happy tales of adventure for the sake of true love, and a dose of hope for sweet romance--sometime, somewhere, however one might get there.

What about Jane McLaughlin’s performance did you like?

I thoroughly enjoyed the narration. Different voices were so clear, distinct and consistent that I never had a second thought as to which of the several characters was speaking. The pace seemed just right and helped me absorb the story thoroughly, without any of the need to backtrack that sometimes happens with an audible book if you aren't giving it your full attention. I thought the narrator did especially well changing from the voice of a contemporary American character to the voices and accent of English characters 200 years in the past, and I never doubted which perspective was which. In fact, when the storyline seemed to stretch my imagination a bit too far, it was the narration that brought me back to the author's fictional world in a way I could picture and appreciate.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A modern woman finds the man of her dreams in 1825.
