Fun with Engaging Plot

This book actually surprised me a bit. It is in the harem genre, which typically is geared for lighthearted distraction with thin plots. However, I found Monster M.D.'s plot engaging. Sure there's still the need to just accept some improbable things, but that isn't unusual for the genre and it doesn't stop this from being a fun story. As someone with experience working in the mental health field, there is a small thing I struggled with. The author seems to have the very common difficulty with distinguishing between a psychiatrist and psychologist. Not likely to bother anyone who doesn't have experience in the mental health field though. Give this a listen if you enjoy the genre.

Chris does a nice job with the narration. I have listened to a few titles by Chris/Steve, and he doesn't disappoint.

Not a bad story but it just did not grab my attention or hold it very well. The relationship between the MC and his harem were also preexisting and left me wondering about how each relationship was formed (my favorite part of a harem book). Its good enough that i would listen to book 2 if it comes out. Chris Graves narration as always its great.

Monster harems and plenty of action

So it’s happened, monsters have been outed and are real. How does humanity act? Makes them 2nd class citizens. Welcome back to class systems. Humans only this humans only
that. Monster areas that are cordoned off like reservations and require permission to pass in or out of. What happens if someone discovers something that would upset the current system? What lengths would the corporate world go to shut down that discovery or control it themselves? To what lengths would the monster community go to expose it? Listen and find out. Loved it

A psychiatrist for monsters. That alone makes for an interesting story. Add some sexy females to fight by his side and the story gets so much better, But that's not all, toss a lot of jokes into the mix and you get a story worth listening to over and over. I can't wait to listen to more from this author!

The narrator does an amazing job reading this. The variation of voices were perfect for each character.

GOOD READ!

I enjoyed this book! The narration was superb and gave the story that extra flair, it really kept you entertained. This author did a great job with the character builds and plot. This was my first book by this author but definitely will not be my last. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Surprise, Surprise

I requested this audio for something outside my usual listen. Not knowing what to expect I found I really enjoyed it. Well written and the narrator was awesome. You'll be glad you gave it a try.

so much potential

The book had a lot of potential but ended up being dark and depressing. It kept going further down the path of darkness and strife. The one positive I will give the book is the author's different spin on "monster girls".

Epic story and perfect performance

This story was amazing, full of adventure and with the perfect performance by Chris Graves, it was easy to get swept into the story itself fully immersed. I look forward to the next one!

Interesting but uneven

Overall, the story was interesting. A psychiatrist who works with monsters to help them work through their problems. But in the midst of a midget investigation, he must also divert a revolution.
The beginning was a little slow and spent way too much time introducing characters that would not play a role in the story until much later or not at all. I struggled to stay with it.
Once the real story really begins to develop, it does take off and in the end it was worth it. The resolution seemed final so it does not seem like a series, although it could probably be developed into one. The characters were interesting and the monsters were ferocious and neurotic at the time.
All in all, I do recommend the book because the story was worth it in the end.
The narration was deftly handled by Chris Graves who explores a new bank of voices not used in some of his other work. Very impressive.
