Resumen del Editor

Its name was Jade Dragon, and it said, “I am the future.” Had the Chinese government gone too far?

Deep in an underground production facility, far away from prying eyes, President Yao Jintao stood and watched—row after row of machines busily working to build other machines that would fight and destroy their enemies. Killers were creating killers for as far as he could see.

The terror was immediate. President Yao sensed they’d crossed a line.

Was it too late to turn back? South Korean and American soldiers stared down their Chinese counterparts along the Yalu River, just like they had 75 years before. With winter on the way and both armies dug in, who might make the first move?

Nobody was prepared for what came next. Out of the swirling snow and ice, there was movement. Someone was out there, or worse, some thing. Jade Dragon has just launched Project Terracotta, and the world would never be the same.

Would humanity be able to stop the evolution of the machines?

This tense fifth book in the Monroe Doctrine series strikes close to home, reminding us that we must all be prepared for when science-fiction becomes our reality.

Includes a special note from the author.

Outstanding

I’ve just finished, and waiting for vol 6. This outstanding novel (series) brings back my Marine Corps memories 1968-1972.
I’m there…

James Rosine did it again.

I completely recommend this book and series to everyone, the way this world is going, and who we have running office and the country , is a complete set up for being invaded by China. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat can't wait for book 6 to come out . The Narrator is off the charts in this book series and keeps you wanting more.

Needs some reality

Great detail and insight on how battles will be fought. Let’s hope that the Chinese are as incompetent and suicidal in every way possible and every American is a new John Wayne. In my opinion it needs more balance with reality or the
assumptions made within are going to get even more of our military killed. Some of the plot lines are just not credible like having an entire army cross the pacific in cruise ships unmolested. Could be better but still a good read.

A realistic story.

This book flowed well, the chapters transitioned well. The reader did a great job with tones. accents not over the top like others. very much enjoyed book 1 thru 5 looking forward to book 6.

Military Fiction at its Best

Solid storyline. Action packed but not overdone. Marc Victor belts out his usual stellar narration. I love this series.
It has everything needed for a 5 star rating:
Evil AI
Dastardly bastard enemies bent on destroying every single thing that freedom loving people hold dear
Armed conflict on the land, sea (surface ships and submarine) , air and space
All technology is reasonably plausible - there isn’t some stupid mega-weapon that zorches entire continents …..

I give this book a solid 97.4 on the 100 point MILF (Modified Integrated Listening Fun) Rating scale. And that, my listening friends, is high praise indeed!

As Good as it Gets

I’m an avid consumer of the Monroe Doctrine series, sometimes I even have dreams or a few nightmares about the entire scenario. The action is concept, the theme is very plausible. Only problem is, I have to wait for the next installment. It’s a long time to hold my breath. 😊 The narration is generally good, the narrator’s voice inflection adds to the immediacy of the action. My only, very nitpicking comment is a few pronunciations that, to me distract from the flow of the narrative. On glaring example for me, a Vietnam Veteran, is the way the narrator pronounces the Vietnamese city of Hue. It is not pronounced as the English work referring to color, but is pronounced “Hua,” wit a l

better than Clancy

James Rosone has imo surpassed Tom Clancy as far as his Ted Storm Rising book.

The first volume was great--inventive and fresh. But, as I have read/slogged through the next three, the writing got stale and repetitive. There are five or six unit level fights that thread through the tome and the reader knows the serial number of each round fired. It's too detailed and my brain can't absorb those details and still follow the story. So, I quit listening about an hour into this Vol 5; I don't think that I'll read Vol VI nor will I read any more of this author. The concept of a wartime artificial intelligence was squandered on bad writing.
