Resumen del Editor

Wet. Freezing. Hopeless. As the Alaskan autumn yields itself to the encroaching threat of winter, Neil, Jerry, Meghan, and Emma must fight for themselves and the survival of everyone else in their group, including the children Danny and Jules, against growing masses of flesh-hungry zombies. The undead menace continues to nip at their heels as they retreat down the Seward Highway and venture further into the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness.

The horrors of Anchorage festering with prowling ghouls are behind them, but now new terrors threaten their every step on their arduous trek. The fiends and their appetite for human flesh are not the only thing to fear as the new world they all must navigate continues to challenge the one basic instinct to which they are all beholden: to survive.

Yay, The Downfall of Maggie

This series was supposed to be a trilogy, but the story was so good I see why it was extended. Along the way,we meet some new friends and lose some new friends and old friends, and also see the demise of some of the villains. The author writes in such a way that he makes the reader actually start to care about what happens to the main characters. He gives enough graphic description to whet our appetites without making us lose it. This was another great installment and I can not wait to find out what happens in the next book. This is an author that I will keep a look out for in the future, as well.

Rambling, killing off characters

I thought the start was kinda cool, you find out what happens to the Dr. Cadwell and another person.

But then there is what I found to be prolonged rambling with not much happening and then suddenly characters start dying. I didn't want those characters to die, but at the same time nothing much was happening with them. I didn't see much of a point of the entire book besides killing off characters which really wasn't done in any profound way.

I found the story very annoying and unsatisfying and I don't like the kid centric focus, because I don't like kids. They are annoying short people.

what was the author thinking

spoilers will be in this. okay this is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to stories like this and I would love to speak to the author and ask him what the fuck he was thinking. you have an absolutely psychotic character like Sullivan. you build the entire story in this book about how psycho he is and I know that every single person reading despised him for what a sick psychopathy was and everyone was looking forward to him getting his. I mean I literally could not wait to see what sick ways the author was going to have him get his in return. and although yes he got his genitalia shot off, all of it happened at once he got shot a bunch of times and died. what a freaking lame death for such a sick individual. can you imagine how much better it would have been for Claire's man or Emma to just completely eviscerate him slowly. chop his thing off, chop his fingers off make him suffer. you can't build up an evil character like that and then give him a quick death. that's so lame like that makes me almost hate the entire story. it's pathetic. and then you give Alec a death where he's being eaten bit by bit little by little. but the freaking psycho dude that gets off on torturing people, gets shot a bunch of times and dies quick. I mean he did a pretty good job with Maggie in the other book although I think he could have done better with that also but that was probably one of the biggest disappointments I've ever read in a novel like this. the whole purpose in creating a character like that and making us hate him so much and continue reading to see him get what's coming to him, is to make him realize that he lost and make him beg and scream and suffer. there's so much that could have been done to him. what a huge awful disappointment that I seriously am not kidding when I say I wish I could contact the author and just ask what the hell he was thinking.

Not Interesting At the Start

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably not. I like this genre, but this book focused too much detail regarding the dead feeding on people. Sort of unnecessary, we get it - they eat people. The killing of characters in the group we follow, are done without much point or plot device added.

Which character – as performed by Daniel May – was your favorite?

Daniel May does a good job, but no one character stands out.

Did Mitigation inspire you to do anything?

Re-consider not finishing this series.

A well crafted a addition to the series.

As expected Sean Schubert delivers another gripping gorefest of zombie goodness in this 3rd installment of the "Alaskan Undead series" I am looking forward to reading "Resolution".

Zombie story Alaska style

Not exactly what I expected. But was pleasantly surprised. I liked some characters and despised others, you know, like real life. Lol. I have a formula for choosing Audible books. Topic I like, 10 hours or more, with spice and action, and lastly perspective or vocabulary from which I learn something. This series so far has all.
