Mulled wine, mince pies and a Yorkshire adventure…

Eva Coleman has lost her glow. She's missed a well-deserved promotion at work and been left heartbroken at what she thought was a proposal dinner. Who the hell said this was 'the most wonderful time of the year'?

Unable to face her family, Eva decides she needs a solo break to rediscover her passions and live life by her own rules. So, she swaps her Nashville hometown for a festive UK getaway.

Stumbling into an antiquarian bookshop, she discovers a book that might just bring her spark back and give her the adventure she's been seeking…

Eva knows what it's like to be left unheard, but can she be the person to finally tell this forgotten story, or is a grumpy Yorkshireman going to stand in her way?

This is such a hopeful, honest, happy, and inspiring story. I am such a fan of Helene’s non-fiction book and was just as blown away by her debut fiction novel. If you need a reminder that magic really does exist, people can overcome incredible odds and find love worth fighting for, and the love of a community can save us from loss, this is the book to read. I hope you enjoy every moment, like I did.

I love holiday romances and this book did not disappoint! The narrator was excellent and brought the characters to life. This might become an annual holiday listen. it would be an excellent Hallmark movie!

What a delight!

Pros: A fun and light holiday read! This was a well-written, cosy, Hallmark-like Christmas story. It was written in a way that I could picture the village and Christmas markets as I read, a testament to a good author.
Cons: There was a little bit of light profanity peppered throughout. The profanity was unnecessary and took away from some of the classiness of the story and writing. The dialogue would be just as effective and powerful without it. The Audible narrator’s voice detracted from the story some with a few of the characters (especially Charlie—it was hard to listen to at times). Charlie’s character was also a bit unlikable, especially near the end, and had some repetitive dialogue.

Cosy, Hallmark-like Christmas story
