The story was very interesting, and I felt like the author gave great deal of thought on the subject and the complexity of the situation.
the narrator was okay, but there were technical issues that made it difficult to listen - it sounded like it was recorded in a tunnel.
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the first in this series and of this author I've listened to and I have to say that I thought the story and characters were great! Well written with and overall smooth storyline - a few lulls but nothing distracting. Main characters Noah and Quinn both have hurts and broken parts but when they come together they seem to sooth those broken hurts and so their relationship builds quite quickly. Loved the adult missing person storyline and the private eye cases where everyone is seemingly helped. I would have liked a bit more closure on the criminal case aspect of that as well as how Quinn decides to balance her families. The narration did this read no favors in all honesty. While the tone was okay it felt like the narrator was rushing thru the read - there wasn't a breath to be had when a new chapter started and really at times sounded monotone. I didn't hate the narration I just felt like it was a race to be finished. Also, I'm not sure if it was studio noise or production noise but there were times that there was almost a white noise. Anyway - book was great, storyline was great - few things I think could have been a bit better and narration definitely needed some work.

I received this book for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

This is a hard review to write because I don't want to give too much away but I'll do my best. Quinn Collier had no idea that the life she had been living might be a lie. She's an artist, as yet unknown, who to pay the bills working as an art teacher, she loves her job but her art is her passion. After the death of her father she's approached by a man she's sure has been spying on her for a while, he tells her she may not be who she thinks she is. The man in question is Noah Sullivan, an ex-Army Ranger who works as a P.I. He's following up on leads on a decades-old child kidnapping, he's sure that Quinn is that missing child.

As you can imagine this news rocks Quinn's world, she's recently lost the man she believed to be her father, she's on her way home to be with the woman she believes to be her mother - can this news be true? Right from their first meeting, there's something of a connection between Quinn and Noah, a connection which before too long they act on. Noah's a bit of a mystery to Quinn, she wants to really get to know him but will that be possible? As for Noah at the end of a case, he walks away, but can he walk away from Quinn?

The storyline flows well, the characters are well-drawn and easy to relate to, I found myself drawn into the story, invested in the outcome, wondering how things would resolve themselves for all concerned. I like the story and enjoyed the narration by Kathy Handrock who I had not previously listed to, and thought she did a good job with all the characters.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
