We all have heard of the phrase "money can't buy happiness", but what we don't realize is a lot of us are under the control of the media and advertising industry, and have been fed the idea that having more materialistic possessions can help you experience a much happier and more fulfilling life. This obsession with having fancy clothes, nice cars, or bigger houses has distracted many people from being kind, friendly, and respectful to each other. The materialistic mindset has also caused a large number of people to get into serious debt.

Do you struggle with depression or anxiety? Do you constantly worry about the little things, then forget about the important stuff only to worry about that later, too? Negative thoughts like these can be not only overwhelming but destructive as well. Life is about prioritizing what’s important and letting go of the things that aren’t. When we let negative thoughts like these take over, we lose control of our lives and simply start existing instead of living.

Depression is something we all dealt with either personally or have witnessed its impact on others around us. It affects our intimate relationships, drastically impacts our sex life, and affects our children, spouses, and family. If not dealt with in a healthy way, it takes over our lives. Our problems become our only focus. After some time, it only leads you further into the abyss and lessens the likelihood you’ll ever regain control of your thoughts. Even if you’ve tried everything you can think of with no success, you can finally gain control of your thoughts.

Self-discipline (or habits) is your expressway to success. It is the difference between “I might have achieved this” and “Yes, I have achieved it”. Wealthy, happy, and successful people are able to leverage the power of self-discipline to optimize their productivity, make good use of their time, unleash self-control, and be in the controller’s position of their life. They are seldom driven by events, situations, circumstances, or others.

Resumen del Editor
Do you want to change your life? Do you want a simple, happy, budget-friendly life?
Then read below:
Minimalists are people who consciously and intentionally try to live with only what they really need. The mantra would be: "Identify the essential, and eliminate all else." Minimalists are against uncontrolled consumption. It seems that when you have more things that you can use and want more than you can afford, you enter into a vicious cycle in which your things do not work for you, but you work for them in order to impress other persons and raise your status in life. Maybe it's a lifestyle that fills you with stress and dissatisfaction.
So get ready, prepare yourself to be a new person, and make peace of mind a new companion on the adventure you have on this trip named life. This book is going to lead you through the minimalist way to be happy in real terms.
Here's what's included in this book:
- What is minimalist living
- The benefits of minimalism
- Social and emotional minimalism
- Financial minimalism
- Decluttering for joy
Good luck as you put one step forward on this trek to strive for that deep understanding of true, simplified happiness!

Historia
Hardly anyone ever leaves Des Moines, Iowa. But Bill Bryson did, and after 10 years in England he decided to go home, to a foreign country. In an ageing Chevrolet Chevette, he drove nearly 14,000 miles through 38 states to compile this hilarious and perceptive state-of-the-nation report on small-town America.

Historia
Tired of the pace and noise of life near London and longing for a better place to raise their young children, Mary J. MacLeod and her husband, George, encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud and startled owners of a near-derelict croft house - a farmer’s stone cottage - on “a small acre” of land. Mary assumed duties as the island’s district nurse.

This Book Has Great Tips
This book has a lot of great tips and is inspiring. It seems like it might be easier to read than to listen to. Like a lot of non-fiction books, they're hard to narrate and keep the listeners attention.

Decent
I ended up listening to this in the car which wasn’t too bad. I knew some of the minimalistic views on how to do things but ultimately it’s not for everyone. Probably not for me but it’s aleays an option and I’ll come back to this book if I do. Not a bad listen.

The perfect start into minimalist living
Before reading this book I had only seen minimalism posts on blogs and Pinterest, but I never really got too into the lifestyle. Once I purchased this audiobook, I fell in love with how George explained the lifestyle and how it can change your life overall. Not just with reducing your spending, but your overall happiness as a person. The length of the book was perfect for introduction in the lifestyle itself. I can not wait to get started with the decluttering step — excellent book. Please write more books on this topic!

On the short side
I know this was only the first volume in the series, but I wish it would have been longer. It was a good topic that was well written and very well narrated, but I felt shorted when it ended after only a hour and thirty two minutes.

A powerful motivation to declutter your life
I'm very fortunate to get this audio book for free. It explains what is minimalism and the human behavior to want more. It also explains the benefits of decluttering and how you can apply it. I love it.

interesting information
Minimalist living is a unique concept that many are now living with. According to the book, minimalist living is a simplistic form of life where you live with the bare minimum in life. The idea is that clutter and unneeded items surrounding you clutter not just your selves and walls but your mind and well being as well. The audio book gives lots of information about what minimalist living is and its benefits to you, tells you about social, financial and emotional minimalism is, and gives information as to how you can declutter to bring joy to your life. It was easy to listen to and provided me with a lot of information.

This was such a great book! I was looking for a little insight into minimalism to help me simplify my home. Little did I know that minimalism is so much more than having few physical materials. There are multiple ways that minimalism can help simplify and make your daily lives more positive! I definitely recommend this book!
