Resumen del Editor

Golf is a Zen sport. If you leave the present moment, you will likely feel the immediate karmic consequences like a hammer hitting your thumb.

In The Mindful Golfer: How to Lower Your Handicap While Raising Your Consciousness, Stephen Altschuler helps you nail it all right - hard and true and into another level of surrender, satisfaction, and, self-awareness. He uses the tools of Zen to raise the game several notches on the ladder of consciousness. The book discusses the state of the game, some of its more illustrious players, its glories, and its challenges. The author covers some of his own struggles with golf, and some moments of achievement, if only fleeting. His book is a reflective look at golf today, emphasizing the mental and spiritual elements of the game.

Okay, a bit dated

The examples and tips in the book are helpful. The concept of mindfulness is good but tying it into Buddhism may turn some readers off.

Love mixing Buddhist Philosophy with Golf

I love how this book interweaves Buddhist philosophy with Golf. Mental attitude is so important in golf, and what better way to get your thoughts under control than with the centuries old wisdom of Buddhas insights. Non attachment to your results is actually a great way to handle golf - the good the bad and the ugly. If you can take this book's recommendations to heart, I believe it will make you a better golfer - and have a better disposition in life as well. Really enjoyed it.

Incredible Insight on Mental Golf! #MindfulGolferForLife

I am both passionate about Golf and Mindfulness:

This book captures perfectly the essence of Positive Psychology, Mental Strength and Focus needed to prevail at This Amazing Game.

Every chapter reminded me of the essence of Golf and how to enjoy playing relaxed and with no worries.

Since retaking this amazing game a year ago, my average score was 100. I scored 85 after almost 20 years of not doing so.

My Mind and Body are now connected better than ever (like a child/teenager when I played competitive Golf) playing The Greatest Game in The World.

I really enjoyed every second of it and I would highly recommend it to every Golfer out there.

A good listen, but longer than it needs to be

There is a lot of good stuff in this book and it's well read, but it's just too long and it gets repetitive in many spots. It reminds me of sitting on the deck after rounds of golf and you have some great discussions, but due to alcohol and perhaps getting older you just keep rehashing the same things. That's fine for golf discussions with your playing partners, but with an Audiobook it's like the group in front of you is playing way too slow. I might have appreciated some of this book more except I've read quite a few golf related books already.

If you love golf and want more from the game than just a good score

I love this book. Inspiring, fun, thought provoking, easy to comprehend.

Well written, great content, combines the mental and mechanical aspects of the game. Great life lessons as.

Practical and inspirational.

Thank you to Stephen, Robin and everyone else who’ve brought this audio book into being.

Narrator knows nothing about golf

The narrator mispronounced many of the names of the PGA players and courses. It was very annoying.

Lost Me

It’s your typical Zen Golf spinoff. He lost me comparing golf to being on his third wife after his first commit suicide.
