Resumen del Editor

I have an addictive personality. It's why I can juggle, why I'm not allowed to gamble, why I've seen every episode of the new Doctor Who, and why I hate my boss.

This is all his fault. But thanks to him buying a Rubik's cube for the company to enjoy at break time, this book exists. Take a similar journey to my own. You don't even need a Rubik's cube. This book isn't about solving puzzles. Instead, it teaches how to turn your mind into a memory palace that can store anything.

What do you need to learn? Phone numbers, random facts, the names of people you've met, every state and its capital, or the precise order of a randomly shuffled deck of cards? I give you the keys to the items you need to remember.

Whether it's to impress somebody, to stop relying so much on smart phones for remembering, or just to enjoy the parts where I talk about Star Wars and Doctor Who, there's something here for everyone. Memorize cards. Memorize numbers. Memorize names. Memorize faces. All this and more is at your fingertips, using memory palace/mind palace techniques popularly fictionalized in Sherlock.

Extremely insightful and effective!!

I learned to make a list for my job using the body technique and nailed it first try!! Literally 20 seconds after he mentioned it I was able to accomplish my list without pen and paper just amazing 🙏🏼

Helpful

Gave me some newer ideas on forging new palaces for the different types of subject matter.

Highly recommendable.

Tried this as an additional/alternative approach to help out with preparations for my philosophy exam. Heard about the technique from before, but never given it much consideration. Tho the performance seemed a bit "dorky", it actually helped me get a grasp of how to perform the practice, as it lead me to create some memorable and crazy scenarios.

I'm dyslexic so reading and remembering all the names, theories, and terminologies related to philosophy is a big challenge for me. After listening to the first 3-4 chapters it took me about 7 minutes to memorise the names, dates, and key notes to all of the philosophers for this years curriculum. No joke! Now my childhood home is filled with philosophers doing everything from dueling their own ghosts on top of animal carcasses at the entrance. To having slaves burning boots in my old living room. I'll not even attempt to explain why they are doing it, try for yourself and you'll understand.

Studying have now become something I can do for pure entertainment, constantly being able to add items, clothing, locations, and crazy new scenarios to all the rooms and every nook and cranny of the house. I will definitely try some of the exercises mentioned in the later chapters. In a risk-return tradeoff I would say it's worth every dollar and minute spent if it's half as rewarding for you as it was for me.

The reasons for the 4-stars is because of the previous mentioned dorkiness and some tidbits being of no interest to me personally. The end result and overall experience is a well deserved full score!

My sincerest gratitude to the author Scott Hughey, for making my daily life easier and a lot more fun!

frustrating

This has great information in it, but thr tangents are so infuriating. The information is extremely useful, but the way this book is written it's extremely difficult to get through.
