This audiobook is a fantastic listening guide that really captures the spirit of Mexican culture. The author, Michèle Favarger, does a great job of mixing history, spiritual ideas, and things people do every day, making the book both educational and very interesting to listen to.

What stands out is how the book doesn't just explain where old traditions come from, but also shows how those beliefs are still a big part of modern Mexican life. The section about Milagros is especially cool, showing you how faith and common beliefs fit together.

If you are trying to feel more connected to your Mexican background or just want to truly understand these cultural insights, this audiobook is extremely helpful. It's narrated in such a simplistic easy-to-listen-to style that anyone can follow along. Highly recommended for anyone desiring to enrich their knowledge of Mexican cultural and traditions.

This is a very interesting book! I loved hearing how a lot of the Mexican superstitions & traditions started and how they have grown from indigenous roots. I like how the author told of examples and personal stories to explain how and why indigenous people do what they do. For example, in the Love chapter, on a night with a full moon, people will write their crush’s name on a paper 7 times, and sleep with it under the pillow when they go to sleep. That night, they will dream of them and decide if they should pursue them. Another interesting thing is that they do not ever buy their crush shoes because it means they will walk away from them. This book is full of interesting traditions, superstitions and Milagros. I had never known of 90% of these and really enjoyed listening. The narrator does a great job at keeping the listener wanting to hear more. Excellent book!!
