Humility Wins

A grand, good dream is put into perspective through Vischer’s creative journey with Bob and Larry. His transparency about his struggles is evidence that humility,rather than creative genius, (although that’s true, too) is his most defining quality.

Best business book ever!

I am a serial entrepreneur, and have been in business for over 38 years. This is the best business book I have ever read. It's very entertaining, very funny, but it's also emotionally gripping. I highly recommend it. Five stars! Mike Kappel

A nostalgic trip through Veggie Tales

Loved the details of all that led to the creation of Veggie Tales, from the Phil Vischer’s growing up years through to the height of Big Idea’s success. It was very poignant to hear about what happened as everything unraveled and cleared up some questions and confusion I had in what had happened.

The last section of the book is an interesting introspection about what was learned and I appreciated a lot of it, with one significant exception. I do not feel spiritual peace with the concept that God allowed all of that to happen, maybe even caused it, so that Phil Vischer could learn this lesson. Too many other people were impacted and this smacks of self centeredness. Like “hey God played around with your lives to humble me”. It’s not a good look for Christians but it is a common one and I don’t fault Vischer for using that formula since it is likely what he has grown up around and had reinforced his entire life.

The majority of the book was very fun (how Vischer picked up skills throughout his life, the behind the scenes stories etc). So glad I read this!

Interesting, moving, and inspiring

I’ve listened to this book twice now. The story resonated with me so much that I feel like I may understand God a little more now. I’ve been meditating on the verse James 1:2 “…consider it joy when you face trials of many kinds…” and this story helps me work through this idea with a great example. Great read!

Amazing read

The story provides such a brand new perspective on a large aspect with my personal walk with God. To a 19-year-old, the business aspects makes so much sense for how brilliantly it's written, and the fact that it's narrated by the guy that lived through this is also remarkable, making it that much more real (he's extremely lively) I wish more authors wrote looks like this, that teach life lessons, business lessons, but then turns their own life story into a God lesson. The book was so good, my father read it twice, and shared it with many of his own co-workers.
